This hotel is nice, comfortable, and clean. They have an airport shuttle but be aware, they are not an airport hotel. Without traffic, they are about 20 minutes from the airport. With traffic, try 30-45 minutes. Their airport shuttle is also not a 24 hour shuttle. You won't be able to catch a 6am or 7am flight using the shuttle.... More

I've had several experiences at a variety of Hilton Garden Inn locations and all of them have been great - San Mateo is no exception. The rooms are spacious and functional. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The restaurant serves an excellent omelet in the morning and the business center and pantry (for miscellaneous accessories, snacks and beverages) is quite... I've found this property very typical of the Hilton Garden Inn chain -- comfortable room, good location, good hot breakfast options. I read another review that said the rooms were somewhat smaller than normal, but I didn't find that. I did find a towel animal (a turtle) on the bed in my room, when I checked in. That reminded me... This is a clean hotel with a friendly staff. I liked the towel animals with mints that were left in my room by housekeeping. I had a first floor room so the noise from happy hour in the lobby was a bit much on one evening. Also, agree with other reviewers that the cleaning service comes late. Had the same... More

Thanks for the comments. I read them all and appreciate the feedback. I also post them for our staff to read. Our towel animals have been popular and seem to be some of the most photographed items in our hotel. Our housekeepers clean rooms all day so sometimes a room may be cleaned at 9am and other days it may... More

The hotel is located between 92 and 101 in Foster City which gives you great access to go over the San Mateo bridge or head north to San Francisco or south to Santa Clara. the rooms come with a small refrigerator and microwave. The business center is centrally located in the lobby and because it has multiple computers and printers,... More

I often stay at Hilton Garden Inns because they're good value for a decent sized room, but this one is a poor example. - Front desk person was incredibly grumpy, and would ignore you until you said something to her first - Rooms are smaller than other HGIs - Cleaning service came too late - we were out all morning... I stayed here on business, and it was a fairly standard business hotel stay. The rooms were fairly quiet, and the hotel seemed to have most facilities. I was disappointed by the exercise room, it consisted of two running machines and one cross-trainer, plus weights, but no bikes of any kind. I was pleased that the hotel does not charge... More

The rooms are decent and the location is great, but the staff seems uninterested and there is no energy here. And it is way too expensive. An Embassy Suites eight miles away in Burlingame is cheaper with a much better breakfast. More

This is a small and cosy hotel and the staff are very friendly and assuring. As a single femal traveller, they made my stay very comfortable and gave me the feeling of a "home away from home". The hotel is about 20 mins drive away from San Francisco International Airport. The bus provides complimentary bus shuttle to and from the... More
