My hubby, son, daughter-in-law and I stayed here while in the Paso area. The hotel was so charming, as were the staff. There is a European ambiance about the place and we especially liked the courtyard design of the hotel. Our first floor patio rooms were immaculate with very comfy beds, the complimentary breakfasts (continental during the week and hot,... More

The Cheval is a real treat - from the excellent breakfasts, the swanky rooms, the location in town, to the great staff. Worth a splurge if you're visiting Paso Robles wine country. We were quite pleased to begin our 30th anniversary trip here, and we look forward to a return trip some day! More

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Cheval several times, and I when I leave I can't wait to go back. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the staff very helpful. We arrived early, and the staff made sure our room was ready for us well before check-in time. The hotel is very small (I think there... More

The hotel is really perfect. The location: in the centre of town, within walking distance of excellent restaurants and things to do; the rooms: beautifully decorated, with style yet cosy and warm; the bed: one of the best sleeps I had in two weeks of traveling; the outdoor spaces: where you can while away hours in front of a fire;... Who would think you could find a bit of European flavor in Paso Robles. This small Inn has old world charm galore. Yes it all comes with a price tag, but not out of scale with most of the B&B properties in the wine country surrounding Paso. But this place is right in town and convenient for walking to all... We have read several reviews. Let me be clear. Yes the hotel is pricey. We paid on average 400$ per night. But, if you can afford it, it is worth it. If you are stretching your budget stay somewhere else and do not complain. We stayed in "Firetail" in the courtyard immediately next to the large fireplace. It was fabulous.... More

Hotel cheval was really great. Recently we stayed for two nights and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms. Yes, location is great due to the walking distance to most of the restaurants in Paso. However, originally I was skeptical of the quality of the rooms for the price I spent. $290+ a night for a room... More

Who says there are not great places to stay in Paso Robles. I found this place while visiting the Paso wine area. This is the nicest most upscale place in downtown paso Robles. It's one block to town square and great restaurants. I definately will return to hotel cheval. More

After spending 4 days at Hotel Cheval in Paso Robles, I was shocked to see it was not the top-rated hotel in Paso Robles on tripadvisor. It is far superior to any other property in the area in so many ways. First, it is not a chain property. Second, it is in the center of town, walkable to every great... More

My husband and I won an overnight stay at this luxurious hotel from the STARS Infant and Preschool fundraiser that we had attended. I have driven by this hotel so many times wandering what it would be like to experience that type of luxury. When we entered the lobby to check in, we were immediately assisted with parking and then... More
