There are three things I believe are a minimum that must be provided by a hotel/motel that are essential for the business to remain in business. Those are: 1) Cleanliness, 2) Things must work and 3) Safety. There was no issue of feeling safe, so let’s put that one behind us. Now for the others. 1) Cleanliness. Our room was... More

The motel is clean, run by good people, it's not fancy, but What history we need to value our past So we don't ruin The future Doesn't seem to be haunted. I call it character. The kind of place to relax love on family and enjoy Gods great creation. I will be back.

I spent 9 months traveling across the country and staying in 100's of hotels. This place is easily in my top 5 favorite. I enjoy it so much that I continually go back to stay. My wife and I treat it not so much as a place to stay on your way to somewhere else, but as a get away... More

Our son recently got married and he and his wife to be selected the Ranch Motel as their venue. If you are looking for a really fancy location, you won't find that in Olancha. If you are looking for a unique location with lots of character, clean rooms, and a manager, Judy, who will do anything to make your stay... More

We spent the night here after thinking we'd be adventurous, rather than stay in a brand name place. It didn't look like much from the street, but it ended up being a pretty cool place to stay. We stayed upstairs in room 6. It had a pretty cool view of the Sierra mountains. We had a nice time. Outside there... More

Four of us 20-something-year-olds stayed here on our way to Death Valley and had no idea what to expect after reading the other reviews here. What an amazing experience our night turned out to be! The owners, Jerry and Juanita, treated us like family and invited us to a bonfire party in the evening outside the motel. We stayed up... More

Visited this place during our West cost trip to California - we decided to do the popular circuit by Road - San Jose - Kings canyon - Sequoia - Death Valley - Las Vegas - Grand canyon - LA. This trip was to cover about 2800 miles by road; since I had my 3 yr old daughter travelling we planned... More

If you are looking for an adrenaline rush, it's a place to stay. Really spooky. We arrived late at night and Death Valley was fully booked, so we had to stay outside of the park and this was the closest. We also saw an amazingly large spider in one of our rooms. Would stay here again only if we absolutely... More

We stayed there in Jan. 2007 -- I felt compelled to comment after hearing that investigators are looking for graves of people Charles Manson may have murdered 40 years ago. Who knows if Olancha is one of them, but the place is definitely haunted. My husband, who doesn't believe in such things, had a horrible nightmare where he imagined that... More
