Looking for a neat place to stay somewhere not too far from Eureka, CA, yes I know that they are about 3 hours apart, but my original plan had some other places involved, anyway I ran onto Featherbed Railroad on TA and it sounded great. So with the original plan I went ahead and booked the Wild Wild West and... More

I love unusual lodging, so I was very excited about staying here. Overall, I’m glad we went, but in hindsight I wish I had only booked one night instead of two. Also, I probably won’t bother to go back a second time, but I’m very glad we went once. It was mostly a fun and interesting experience. We stayed in... More

Terrible. Got this for my parents and this was their experence: Both mornings the breakfast was CHEAP, as we could have done better at MacDonald's; what was given to us was just a muffin bun, a slice of ham, and a little egg, and banana each to bring home. Dad had to ask for juice, which they barely filled the... More

We are always saddened when someone's vacation isn't even greater than they expect it to be and, clearly, your parents' enjoyment of our caboose oasis wasn't up to their expectations. I also appreciate your posting this so we have the privilege of addressing their concerns. A vacation in a unique and very different setting like a caboose isn't for everybody... More

As we work our way through staying in each adorable room, Peggy and Tony continue to add a very special warmth to our visits. The rooms are private and all so very unique, most with jacuzzi tubs to relax in, comfortable beds, and a remarkable view of Clearlake you can enjoy on the private dock or deck from some rooms.... I love trains, so this place was a no brainer! We arrived late, but our caboose was open with the key inside. We had chosen the Casablanca but were moved to the Orient Express. The rooms are small (they are cabooses after all) but well appointed. A great deal of care has gone into the conversion and conservation of these... More

My fiance loves trains, so when I saw a LivingSocial deal for this place I just had to get it for him. Rooms that used to be cabooses? I've gotta see this. We were lucky enough to stay in the Casablanca Room. We opened the door to a room with "Rick's Cafe Americana" in neon above a piano and the... More

We used a Living Social deal to stay 2 nights in the Wild, Wild, West caboose. Sooo cute! The bed was heavenly comfortable. This caboose has a clawfoot tub, not a jacuzzi like the others. However, it was still a great place to stay. Breakfasts were delicious; Tony and Peggy are warm and welcoming.
