Although this hotel is conveniently located and was rather nice, the complete and total lack of soundproofing was ridiculous. I literally could hear the guy upstairs get out of bed, walk into the bathroom, and take a leak. Yes, I could actually hear him peeing. Nice as the place looked I definitely wouldn't stay there again.

The biggest surprise of our California road trip. Great location, fantastic rooms, massive fireplace and TV, comfy bed, great service, just wish we had more than 1 night here.We didnt get chance to use the pool area, but looked lovely. Would stay again if we return to Monterey.

Stylish, comfortable and well-positioned with friendly and very helpful staff BUT unfortunately affords unwelcome insight into other guests' lives - from intimate conversations to toilet habits and sexual activity. The soundproofing in this hotel appears to be non-existent. Add loud 04.30 trash collections and sleeping is really not an option.
