The Tropical Cottage was the perfect choice for our weekend getaway to the beautiful Mendocino coast. In that it was pet friendly it was the ideal cottage to stay at for our first trip with our 5 month old German Shepherd. The pet ammenties were very pleasing to our pup, he thoroughly enjoyed the biscuits and the towel for his... More

Great views of headlands state ocean shore park. Very nice spacious room with spa tub. located on the north side of town but an easy walk to downtown. An even shorter walk to the awesome Pacific ocean rugged shore line. A great place to stay, relax and enjoy.

The Mendocino Seaside Cottage exceeded our expectations. Just steps away from the Headlands State Park, the location is awesome. You can park the car and not use it at all during your stay. The village of Mendocino is a short walking distance away. The views are lovely from the cottage grounds, so you don't even have to leave the cottage... More

Stopped here for a couple days on our way back home to the Bay Area. Mel was very friendly and helpful. He called before we arrived to let me know to call him should we need anything. We were in the "Special Occasion" room. The high pollen during this time of year was awful for my husband's allergies and unfortunately... More

We love the seclusion, yet walking distance to town. Breathtaking views. Right on the headlands, our favorite place to hike. Dog friendly. While you do not meet the owners, they a delightful to work with. We have been to many places in town, this is the only place we have returned to, and will again!

Mel, the innkeeper, was so awesome from the moment I booked this hotel that I really wanted to like this place. However, it fell short of expectations. First of all, I do not recommend coming in at night as your actual room is a bit difficult to find. I did appreciate the homey touches in the room (bathroom cups, silverware,... More

My wife and I stayed here Jan. 7-10, 2012 in the free-standing, fully equipped "Tropical Cottage". Easy access directly from parking area. Located a 5 min. walk from the village, it is just 100 yds. across the headlands to the ocean, in a perfectly beautiful, quiet spot, with nice views through the windows. From here you can access the walking... More

This is my favorite place to stay in Mendocino. It's overlooking the headlands feeling very remote, yet a short walk to the village. The owners are very responsive and keep the place looking great.

My wife and I stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, and enjoyed it so much, we stayed an extra night. The view is great. My wife loved the jacuzzi bathtub and fireplace and I loved the king-sized bed. We drank wine on the private deck, listened to some Motown and starred at the stars all night. It was a great relaxing... More

My husband and I spent two nights here (part business, part fun) and stayed in the Vista View Room. And it is literally a vista view room! Wall to wall windows look out over a private deck to the beautiful Mendocino headlands. The room was comfortable, the bathroom a little small, but amenities were nice and having the mini frig,...
