So I travel a lot, many times don't bother to write a review simply because the places I say at are just fine. Nothing exceptional, nothing horrible. The Historic Mayfair is SCARY! I was traveling on business and needed to be close to Union Station to catch a very early train. The lowdown: This hotel is in a sketchy area,... More

I arrived at the hotel, greeted by a very friendly bellman, the staff are very friendly. The initial concern that the area is not good, or the neighbourhood is rough was a whole lot of rubbish. We were safe and had no problems what so ever!!!! You will be only a view blocks away from the Macy's plaza and other... More

I read the bad reviews. I read the good reviews. I took a chance. Bottom line: I have no complaints. The lobby, elevator and general facilities were aged, but quite functional. The room was quite small, but I was alone. The furniture is far from new, but it all seemed clean. It did not smell. The bathroom was small. Not... More

Dirty carpets and old interior, cleaners tried but vacuum cleaners are antique, wore shoes to get out of bed. No bar. Wifi is rubbish if it is working, couldn't use it in the room. On the positive side - 3 blocks out of town, but the area is pretty rough. Staff were polite. Cheap for downtown.

Just got through a 3 night stay at the Historic Mayfair Hotel and it was worth every dollar. The employees are very courteous and will help you with directions around downtown. I stayed in a two-bed room and had a view of the hollywood sign and the westlake district. I booked the room on hotels.com for about 65 dollars. Just... More

We booked this place online thinking it had a central location not realising just how bad the neighbourhood was. Its very rough and we did not feel safe to walk outside of an evening. The room we got was run down, almost a closet, facing the back of the hotel with 2 double (if u could call them that?) beds... More

Few days before my flight, I was panicking as I've read a lot of negative reviews about this place primarily in terms of its cleanliness. I spoke to the Manager ahead of my arrival and made her aware that I knew all these write-ups about the hotel. Apparently, because of my honesty, she upgraded my room to a Queen Suite... More

The first time I stayed here I had found a deal online. When I went to check in, the employee informed me of a better deal and saved me even more. From then on I stay no where else and they are consistenly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and freshly restocked(sheets and all). It is in a sketchy... More

The lobby will deceive you when checking in because it's very nice. Sure, this place is historic with wonderful old Hollywood detailing, but once I set foot off the elevator to my floor the place became a run down, dirty, dingy, stinky, outdated, filthy, disgusting, musty old mess. I felt completely unsafe here. The first room on the 11th floor... More

I hadn't read amy reviews whatsoever of this place before I got there, I had just been driving for like 8 hours, was tired and it was getting really late. I had originally planned on staying at some cheap Rodeway Inn or something that was out in some desolate industrial area and had a beyond rude Indian guy there who... More
