Well, this is a strange place. At first, everything looks beautiful and you have the feeling you have landed in the Garden of Eden. After a night or two, you realize that this is definitely not a great deal. The Pros: The hotel is nice and the court has a variety of plants that is truly impressive. Everything looks clean... More

I just stayed at the Estancia La Jolla May 16 - 18th. I was greeted by the Valet who helped with my luggage and took my car to the parking lot. This was a pleasant surprise. AFter I checked in (which was a breeze) my luggage was brought to my room by an attendant, they even offered to bring me... More

Clean, nice, cordial staff, grounds well kept, still this is definately not a Four Seasons, a Biltmore or a Marriott. This is a decent, OVERPRICED hotel in a good area. Small rooms with OK decor, noise from above nearly unbearable at times. Perhaps a bit better in a 3rd floor suite, but do not accept the 1st floor!!! Food at... More

My girlfriend took me to Estancia La Jolla for a surprise trip for my birthday. We live in San Diego, so it was really a "staycation away from home", but Estancia La Jolla definitely gets you into the vacation mood. We had a nice room with a great view of the lush inner courtyard. The room was spacious enough, clean,... More

The grounds is breathtakingly beautiful. It's quite big, with several separate buildings surrounded by lush greens. If you go to their website you'll see pictures of the courtyards and architecture. It definitely beats staying at a big box hotel that's just one gigantic building. Nearby attractions within walking distance include Torrey Pines Gliderport, Salk Institute (cool architecture), and UCSD. More

This place is a a rip off, it trades itself as a 4 star but service is on a 2 star level. Biggest problem was the rooms, their building has 3 stories and unless you're on the top floor, you're going to hear every footstep above you. We requested to change rooms which they allowed on the second day of... More

Our first time staying here was an estate king room on our wedding night. I had confirmed with the front desk for a rose pedal turnover service to be done by 6pm. When my best man arrived at 7 to add more decor, the room was untouched and he had to do all the decorating. Thanks best man! This time... More

Visiting with my mom, we found the resort a welcoming and gorgeous property filled with lush foliage, friendly staff, and a "secret" sitting area to enjoy (outside Bodega Wine Bar). The bathroom is well appointed and tastefully decorated, shower water pressure is great, and carpets in rooms are washed regularly (a rarity in hotels/restaurants)! Bathroom doorway is wide enough to... More

My wife and I stated here for a weekend in mid-March. I had booked a special alumni rate and my big complaint is that most parts of the package deal were ignored by the hotel. But first the good: - Nice rooms. Perhaps a little basic but functional. - Quiet location and a short drive to the beach and downtown... More

this hotel was absolutely one of the loveliest hotel where we have stayed . It was large....but felt cozy (once we found our way around). It had the most beautiful landscaped gardens everywhere. We had ordered the estate king which had the balcony overlooking a quiet garden The pool and spa area was lovely (unfortunately too cold when we were there... More
