Six of us went up for Easter weekend and had a fun time. Skiing accommodations were great and the employees were very helpful and friendly as we rented skiing skiing equipment for two days. I even took a ski class and the instructor was very insightful. The hotel room #205 was hot at night and the hallways were even hotter... More

We just spent the weekend at The Mountain Club and I truly don't think you can beat the location anywhere on this mountain, or any other mountain. The lodge sits right at the base of one of two "villages," where you literally walk out your door to access five chair lifts. The lifts give you quick, direct access to beginning,... More

We are just completing a one week stay in the Mountain Club together with our kids and grandkids. It has been a memorable experience for us. The Mountain Club is freshly remodeled with new beds, sofa sleepers, appliances, electronics, and elevator. The resort is very family friendly and the grandkids enjoyed the instructors. Even though we worried about enough snow,... More

My wife and I have skied Kirkwood 30 days a year for 5 years or so. We alway stay at he mountain club - the ski on-off is unparalleled in the Northern Sierra. But we don't recommend it to anyone who want good facilities or service. Frankly, we put up with indifference and apathy from the staff and owners because... More

We had originally booked a room at Sun Meadows in Kirkwood for a mid week stay and ski package. However, upon check in, we saw the room at Sun Meadows and immediately asked for an upgrade. The hotel style room at Sun Meadows was postage stamp small, crowded, outdated and dirty. Not worth even the package price of $100/night per... More

I would never take my family to this resort again. The mountain lodging is dirty and smells. There is nothing open and nothing to eat in the village after dark. Kids have nothing to do here after ski hours. And, given the location, there is too much risk that some or all of the mountain won't be open due to... More

For $250 a night beds were terribly uncomfortable. Led to a poor nights sleep and this grumpy post. Other room shortcomings, like the 20 yr old 19in TV, are excusable even during march madness. The location is great but I'd bring an inflatable mattress or better yet stay at cheaper place in south lake and drive in. More

Our party of two stayed three nights in a studio + loft. It was much larger than I expected, and the kitchen had all the necessary items. The furniture is obviously not new, but it was clean and comfortable. We heard no noise from neighbors, but were there during a relatively quiet week. There is underground parking with a slow,... We had an expiring time share week and so decided to use it to go to Kirkwood area. We stayed in a studio with a kitchen. The kitchen had a full stove (with oven) and refrigerator. Large enough to cook meals. They had very few pots however except for a spaghetti pan - so if you plan to do serious... More
