the owner, and the location, really make this a geat place. Nothing fancy, but absolutley calm and welcoming. Had a great time visiting with the other guests and exploring the creek. MANY MANY MANY great pools for swimming and wading and rocks for sunbathing. The lodge is a little way up the canyon, but that made it QUIET - as... More

We stayed at Durrwood Creekside Lodge on the night of 8/4 prior to going white water rafting on the Kern River. Although the rate was favorable ($80 or $90 cash), the place seemed run down. Although the people were very nice and friendly, the room was not adequate and we were glad we only had to stay 1 night. At... More

We stayed in Ralph's and Diana's Bed and Breakfast on Memorial Day Weekend. This place is so charming, sitting in the middle of the woods, along a small beautiful creek. This place is unique, from it's location, to it's facilities to the people who own it. They make you feel at home far from home. The rooms are really clean... More

First of all, Ralph and Diana are some of the nicest people. Extremely accommodating and friendly. Secondly, the room was perfect and exactly what we needed, clean bed, clean shower, refrigerator and no cell service, No TV, well there are TVs with DVD players attached but no stations. Which is a good thing. Woke up to fresh pot of coffee... More

I stayed here with my husband and our daughter. It's nothing fancy, but is cozy and clean. It honestly felt like if you were to stay a night with family you're not too close to, but are very kind and nice. We originally tried to book McNally's, but it was unavailable. Durrwood is a great alternative to camping outdoors and... More

First when we arrived it appeared like something you seen in a scary movie. they have a large dog who is probably friendly, but weights approx 165 lbs being held by a 45/50 lb 7 year old. we then entered I guess what they call the office or reception office and the lounge area, it was so dark and the... We stayed at the family cottage which had plenty of room for the four of us, plus are small dog. The charm of this place is that it is tucked away from everything else. The room is clean, well supplied with the essencials. It has trails to walk through, beautiful scenery. No phone or cell service so its perfect to... More
