Our room had a bay view, but also the commercial businesses in between. The room was clean and large. It was comfortable and quiet. Not many restaurants except for the hotel's or asian were nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had a refrigerator and micro. We found the beds comfortable.

I made a reservation and was told that my premium room would have a harbor view. My room overlooked the parking lot. It did have a balcony. There was a hole in the screen door of the balcony. It took more than 24 hours and a 2nd call to replace it. For some reason, patching the screen immediately didn't happen.... More

Room was clean and nice. New front desk clerk didn't have any recommendations for dinner but hotel was great for a one night stop. Hotel appeared to be in a safer area than some of the others on trip advisor. We enjoyed dinner down the street at the Lost Coast Brewery.

we have stayed at a number of hotels in the Eureka/Arcata area and have found The Red Lion in Eureka to be the best. The rooms are large and clean and the staff was very pleasant as usual. You can find cheaper motels but for the price you can't find any that are better.

Loved the room and stayed an extra night- I'll go back- but I won't eat there again. The bar is a noisy sports bar,(not conducive to a romantic drink before going up to the room) and they cut happy hour off before 6:30, although they advertise it till then. For the most part, the staff was very nice and helpful.

We reserved a stay at the Travel Lodge (think druggy motel) because they advertised "pet friendly". When we arrived they said "No pets" and turned us away. The staff is great at the the Red Lion and you can't beat the location. It's on 101 but not ON 101 in Eureka....it's set back far enough that you don't get road noise, especially if you are on the water facing side.
