I found this place totally by accident. It is privately owned and operated, the owners live on the premise and they are a very nice welcoming couple. My room was super nice, large, clean and everything in the room worked. The WIFI was fast.

Large clean room. But...wifi didn't ever work (4 devices, multiple tries). Staff didn't have clue or make any visible effort to resolve beyond, " We've been having trouble". Really pleased at our find! This motel had very helpful and friendly staff and was fresh and clean throughout. We just popped over to Eureka for one night to see the Redwoods and needed 2 rooms. We loved this hotel. Lovely building appears quaint and nostalgic on the outside but is pure modern comfort on the inside. Everything a traveler needs and wants in a room. If price is no object, this is, without a doubt, the place to stay in Eureka... and it is not that expensive... prices start at under $100 a night... at least the last time I checked. There were three of us so we chose the "family suite"--two bedrooms, 2 baths. The suite is totally handicap accessible.
