We checked in quite late, but were warmly welcomed by a nice and friendly lady. The room was very spacious, cosy and very clean. I thought the interior of the room was quite charming and the place sort of makes you feel at home. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was also very clean with nice fluffy... More

I really wish that I had been here on vacation--instead, I was harried by the demands of a business trip, delayed by traffic and arrived at 2 am and had to leave at 8 am. So I didn't get to meet the proprietors (who left my room key in a lockbox on my doorknob and weren't in the front office... More

Stayed at this place for two nights are were generally very happy with it. Tiled floor was great, windows could be opened, sink and cock top worked well. Shower clean and functional. There was a fountain in front of out room, providing a soothing noise over the cars (and occasional train) nearby (it is relatively quiet at night, we slept... More

Motel fixed up and well decorated to be competitive with much newer places; nearby markets specializing in fruit, Mexican meats and baked goods; parking right in front of your door; just two blocks to the beach cliff as the crow flies but most of a mile otherwise; get there at low tide to observe the unusual rocks; Polly will greet... This is a boutique hotel, cute... little room, kitschy decor and way better towels than Best Western. The value in the off season is incredible. We paid $79 and thought it was really a great value. I would not say luxurious by any standard, but it worked for us and it was very clean and convenient if you plan to... More

Great location and a steal for the price. Each room has a kitchen so we typically stay a week, and we brought our dog with no problem. Beds are very soft and felt new. We always use the courtyard BBQ and walk down to beacons beach.

We produce an antique show in Del Mar, which is just down the road. I have been putting our show staff up at his little hotel for a few years now and decided to try it for ourselves a few shows ago. It is a 1940's style motor inn, but the rooms have been updated and are very clean. Flat... More

I have traveled to Encinitas throughout my life and wanted to visit again. I choose this hotel because of the charm and quaintness. I was not disappointed. The room was super clean and decorated cute. The bed was so comfortable and I slept well. I'm not a good sleeper. The man at the front desk was friendly. Not a lot... More

I stayed here last week (August 2012) Don't be fooled by choosing a room on their website when booking, you don't get the room you booked! I didn't get the courtyard room I booked, I got an upstairs (difficult stairs) in an adjoining annexe with a window overlooking the staircase. The bed/matress was old and squeaky and lumpy, and the... More
