I stayed at Uma Paro a year ago, and when I decided to propose to my girlfriend this year I could think of no better place to do it than in Bhutan and on the wonderful grounds of Uma Paro. Last year I stayed at a deluxe room with valley view which was very good, but this time we had... More

Loved every minute of our stay in Bhutan and the Uma Paro resort. Jorge, the GM of the resort and his crew took care of every little detail. The Villa (15) was very private and gorgeous with beautiful views of the mountains. Inside, the Villa was spacious with a living and dining room that had a lovely fireplace and also... More

Stay in a villa, not in a room, and you will have your own butler to attend to all your needs and will be pampered silly. The grounds are stunning, the rooms enormous and the location excellent for all that there is to see around Paro. More

We stayed with another couple and would highly recommend the two-bedroom villa if you are staying with friends or family- the large living room has awesome views of the Paro valley and the mountains around, a private massage room, a hot stone bathtub, a verandah where you can have a private bonfire, large bathrooms with a separate shower, bathtub and... Dear Kanwalkwilltravel, Greetings from the land of Happiness and Uma Paro. Thanks a lot for your very kind and detailed comments. The Uma Paro is doubtless the best recommendation in Bhutan, but the country did not live up to my expectations, considering the US$ 400 per couple per day visa fees. I've seen this rather inaccessible country once, and that will be enough for me. The service at the Uma Paro is very good (and probably only beaten by the local... More

Uma never failed to delight, and this time in Paro, they had superseded. We took a hotel package with full board, spa and guided tour. Paid a little more then external tours I believed, but it was worth the value. Can't shout more with the kind and helpful staff, right from check-in to the restaurant, spa & the guide with... More

I don't know if many people would believe they could find this level of luxury and service in Bhutan. I have friends who have traveled through Nepal and Tibet, where the standards of accommodation seem to be more basic. Here, however, amongst the trees in the hills overlooking Paro, we have a lucky and delightful surprise, the Uma. The hotel... More
