After a hot sunny drive on the 395, I was looking for a hotel with a pool and the right amount of sun, shade and quiet privacy away from the main highway. I found it at the Vagabond. Along with the very friendly staff, a spa tub next to the pool, updated furnishings, a quiet location overlooking a lawn with... More

We travel with our very BIG, well behaved dog Cody -- a German Shepherd. Recently we went from the Lake Tahoe area down to the Palm Springs area, breaking the trip into two days. In the past we've stayed at other "pet-friendly" hotels but this time, they were much more expensive than we'd experienced in the past so we searched... More

My 2 small children and I booked a room at the Vagabond on a Friday night as a stop over from Tahoe to Southern California. The staff was friendly, the office open AND staffed 24 hours, the room was clean with microwave and fridge and the property itself clean. On our way back north a week later, my children urged... We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it is a great place to stay for an overnighter. Bishop hotels are somewhat pricey, but this Vagabond always has great AAA rates. We used it as a midway stopover for our trip. On our most recent stay, we were greeted by friendly staff, the room was clean... More

Stayed here one night at the beginning of the Thanksgiving weekend. Check-in was quick and easy, friendly desk clerk. Got the code for the free wi fi and was GTG. Parking is available right in front of the rooms. Can't comment as to value because we were using points for a freebie room. Room large enough for two queen beds.... More

Stopped here to break drive from Yosemite to Vegas - easy check-in and quiet comfortable room, had the breakfast early the next day and it was fine. Booked months earlier but was put on the 1st floor which I found a bit strange. Not use to people walking into their rooms with a large dog as we saw in the... More

Stayed here on the way to Death Valley ---- excellent. Met by a happy smiling receptionist -- good start, good sized twin queen room with all the usual features. Good pool and adjacent hot tub. Good dining places within a few hundred yards. Would I stay again? certainly. More

Stayed here for 1night to break up the journey from Vegas to San Francisco via Death Valley. This is a nice comfortable hotel with the rooms set back off the main road. They are a good size with a microwave and fridge but no safe (I needed somewhere to put all my winnings from Vegas in:) The bathroom is a... More
