My husband and I spent three days in February at the Tamarack Pines Inn on Hwy 4 just downhill from Bear Valley. It has been newly-remodeled and it was lovely. In February in a low-snow year, we were the only people there! Our unit had a good bed, a full kitchen, a nice bathroom, and enough space. A second chair... More

We loved our stay. The Inn is a convenient location to Bear Valley snow skiing, cross country skiing trails and local dining. Stayed for one week without a hitch. The newly remodeled rooms had plenty of hot water, room to cook and relax after a long day of being outdoors... We plan on going back. More

Our family of 5 enjoyed a long weekend at Tamarack Pines during the winter. The accommodations were cozy and very comfortable, and we loved being able to prepare meals. We were close to Bear Valley downhill and x-country skiing. The kids really enjoyed the stash of saucers and sleds that they used for snow play right next to the inn. More

We stayed at Tamark this summer and intend to re-book this winter. It's warm and cozy, convenient for making big dinners for the family and close to lots of outdoor activities. I love the remodeling! ~ D.O. San Francisco More

This home-style accommodation is conveniently located close to the highway and has plenty of different style rooms, for all different needs and groups sizes. The remodeled kitchen is huge and includes a cozy living room and dining room area for big groups. If you don’t want to use the general area kitchen, you can use the one in your room,... More

This is a great place for a family. Convenient to the ski area and lodge, but far enough away when you want to be far away. My family and I stay there in the Winter and Summer. The rooms have their own kitchen, so we did not constantly have to go to the restaurant. We like to cook our own... More

We rented the whole downstairs "The Bear's Lair". We were expecting rustic but this is an old rambling mess of a place. Two sheets of plywood was the counter top. Circuits kept tripping and the mtce people had to go to someone else's room to re-set them! Wires sticking out of walls, ceilings - very unsafe for kids. Beds not... More

Great place to stay close to Bear Ski resort. It is quiet and close. It was a quick drive to the mountian, and set in a very pretty location. Easy to find right off the highway. We had Unit 22 and our son loved the bed and we had a great time. More

One of the worst inn / hotel experiences my family has ever had. We stayed in Room 22 at Tamarack Pines Inn for two nights in Feb. 2008. Here is what we experienced: 1. Sewage / septic smell - the bathroom had a constant smell of sewage / septic system. Even with windows wide open for several hours, the smell... More
