A typical Parador comprising a modern conversion of a castle perched above the town of Tortosa. The room was spacious and comfortable but at this time of year the hotel was relatively quiet. As a result the dining room appeared quiet and cavernous, with almost as many staff as diners. Breakfast was the usual impressive Parador spread and much better... More

The hotel is placed in a commanding position over looking Tortosa, with a relatively short walk into the town. Large room well appointed. Breakfast was buffet style, with a large range of good food, eggs and coffee made to order. Only downside is that internet signal didn't reach the room, but could sit in the lounge with a beer and... Lovely setting but a tad isolated from the town. Great rooms and sevice. The restaurant is overpriced and mediocre. Internet in the rooms would be nice. More

We were very much looking forward to the parador experience and chose the Parador de Tortosa as it seemed like a good place to start. We live a few miles away from Doncaster airport and they fly directly to Reus, about an hour and a half drive away from the parador. The parador was quite difficult to find once we... More

The road up is narrow and steep and when you get to the top you are greeted to the sight of a lovely building surrounded by the City walls, get out of the car and the views are just great. The bedrooms in the parador are in a modern extension but blend perfectly with the old side of the building... More

The blurb says that you approach this Parador up a steep narrow windy road - and how! I looked up through the arch and wasn't convinced I could actually get my bike up there but I did and it was well worth the ride. The building is magnificent and the rooms are clearly well thought out in terms of being... More

The Parador de Tortosa offered a lovely step back in time and to a slower pace of time after being in Madrid and other hectic spots. The views are spectacular, the breezes that blow through are wonderful and the sense that you are in a very special, preserved site is present in each room. The Parador breakfast is very special,... We planned on staying in Tortosa for a day and a night before heading on to Valencia and decided to stay at the Parador. It was our first Parador experience and I basically chose it because the idea of staying in a 10th century castle sounded interesting. The verdict? mainly positive. You can't beat the location. A 10th century castle... More

Location: the location is superb, within a castle on top of a hill in the middle of downtown Tortosa. Therefore, you have fantastic views from the Ebro Delta. Installations: this Parador does not seem to have been refurbished since it was built. Old elevators, old FF+E, old furniture, and nothing special about the interior of the building (it felt a... My parents have been staying in Paradors for several years now and recommended that my husband and I booked a Parador whilst on our recent trip between Alicante and Barcelona. As we are under 35, we qualified for the special young persons rate of 57Euros each for bed and breakfast. Whilst not cheap, this is still value for money and... More
