The hotel is very well located if you are travelling to the North of Spain from Madrid and you want to spend a night half way. Although the Parador needs some refurbish, the rooms are quite big, are quite clean and specially you are in one building of 400 years old at the top of the beatiful city of Benavente.... More

The Parador at Benavente is located in a castle and affords nice views of the surrounding countryside. The old tower is perhas the most noteworthy feature and a nice place to have a drink. There´s a suite at the top of the tower. Rooms on the third floor are good sized and have a nice terrace but they are extremely... More

We stayed here for two nights. The approach through a mad rush hour in the town was not improved by the GPS sending us the wrong way down a one way street but eventually we climbed up through parkland to the Parador. Parking outside was fine - we chose the side away from the trees which were dripping sap in... More

We spent one night here during a summer trip. The room was good in size, but the furniture was old and the bathroom was dated. The worst was the noise; if the room is in a corridor next to the elevator you will hear everyone coming and going all the time. The pool looked nice, but we couldn't go because... More

We only chose to stay here as a convenient place to visit the surrounding towns and were expecting very little after previous reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a large room on the lower floor. While we had no view we had a lovely terrace opening out to the garden and pool. The room was very comfortable... More

The town has several sights, especially its Romanesque churches, worthy of a stop here. The Parador is classic mid-80s style: nicely appointed in Castillian style, well-situated within walking distance of the attractive town. The outstanding point is the restaurant. Althought the menu appears to be fairly typical of the paradors, the quality was superlative! On a trip that included 5... More

We stayed here one night with a child and in-laws on the way to Madrid. The old castle is lovely and the parador has a definite atmosphere of backwoods decadence. The slightly surly (though never unfriendly) staff underscored this sentiment. I half expected a hunchback to roam through the hallways working "security." Room was clean and ample, bed and linens... Old-style Parador in need of reform. Old bathrooms, antequated heating system (i.e. cold room), unsmiling, unfriendly bar/restaurant staff, limited parking. Easy walk into town and nice views from 3rd floor balcony. The main thing we remember from this disappointing Parador was the depressing service from apparently unhappy waitresses in bar and restaurant. So different from the next Parador night in... More

Hotel is set on a promentory and overlooks a courtyard and seating area. The view of the valley below is spectacular. There is a nice, comfy bar area on the main floor and what appears to be a very elegant restaurant - although we did not eat there. The paradore being in an old castle has a narrow twisty staircase... More

Don't know how Benavente because a destination for us (very industrial-looking town). Nothing there, really. The Parador was the most expensive place we stayed the entire time we were in Spain. There was absolutely NOTHING special about it and it was very overpriced at $160.97 EUROS per night (for three of us). A very good breakfast was included. Tired furnishings... More
