The only reason why you'll probably even consider to stay here is because of Tangkoko. It's just in front of this place. I would recommend to stay at Mama Roos, the food is good and the rooms are basic but rather clean. More

We've read some negative reviews about this place, but when we're there it was nice for the price. The family was super friendly, the rooms were basic and a little bit smelly, but that didn't mattered to us. The food was basic but typical Indonesian and delicious! the location to Tangkoko park is superb. We also went to the beach...but... More

The rooms are very basic, not very clean and has a strange smell... BUT Tangkoko worth staying in Mama Roos, which location couldn't be better. Staff is really very friendly and thanks to our experienced guide from that Homestay- we have seen everything we expected to see - tarsiers, macaques, tarantuls...So for one night staying it is ok. But don't... More

The best of a limited selection. You dont go here to stay in 5-star resort, the purpose is to access the Tangkoko Nature Reserve and to see the Tarsiers and Crested macaques. It is only a short walk from the Park headquarters. Rooms were very basic, although clean. Food was basic but sufficient. More

The staff were all nice & the food was marginally OK and was included in the room price. The proximity to Tangkoko is the only strong point. Appeared as though our bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. The fan wasn't strong enough to blow through the mozzie net so sleeping was hot. No chairs in or near... More

Stayed for 4 nights in September 2010. Very friendly homestay. Samuel is a high quality guide for birding (200,000 rupiah per day per person), seeing tarsiers and black crested macaques. Tangkoko is a pleasant fishing village. Food was excellent for lunch and dinner - usually fish and rice, sometimes chicken, sometimes soup. Order rice for breakfast otherwise only bread will... More

Great base if you are visiting Tangkoko, the entrance is just 400m away. A little further on through the village of Batu Pituh is a black sand beach seemingly used only by fishermen and local children flying their kites. The rooms at Mama Roos are basic and somewhat spartan with only cold water. Not really a problem in the heat.... More
