The best of a limited selection. You dont go here to stay in 5-star resort, the purpose is to access the Tangkoko Nature Reserve and to see the Tarsiers and Crested macaques. It is only a short walk from the Park headquarters. Rooms were very basic, although clean. Food was basic but sufficient. More

The staff were all nice & the food was marginally OK and was included in the room price. The proximity to Tangkoko is the only strong point. Stayed for 4 nights in September 2010. Very friendly homestay. Samuel is a high quality guide for birding (200,000 rupiah per day per person), seeing tarsiers and black crested macaques. Great base if you are visiting Tangkoko, the entrance is just 400m away. A little further on through the village of Batu Pituh is a black sand beach seemingly used only by fishermen and local children flying their kites. The rooms at Mama Roos are basic and somewhat spartan with only cold water. Not really a problem in the heat.... More
