The best point about this place was the friendly reception and the little attached restaurant where we were able to get delicious tacos after 9pm after a long bus journey. There's a shop nearby where you can buy a couple of beers to have with your meal. It seems like a safe place and it's convenient for taxis to the... More

This was the second time I stayed at Hotel Real Azteca! The owner and staff feel like family. The food is great and very affordable. The rooms are neat and clean. Water is hot. Air conditioned and a ceiling fan keeps it very comfortable. The owner, Bertha, is very hands on and very accomodating. Close to everything. I will be... More

The hotel is located right In the middle of the busy centre of chetumal but right next to the ADO bus terminal where you can get frequent buses all over Mexico so a good location if your are using this hotel as a stop over for one night. Definetly would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere... More

We stayed here for a night on our way to Belize, hoping to stay somewhere cheap but passable. We didn't need anything fancy but what we got was far from good. The bed was a busted mattress on top of a concrete block, the air conditioner sounded like a rusty chainsaw from a horror movie and the shower was either... More

This hotel is in the heart of Chetumal within close walking distance of the wonderful Mayan museum, shops and restaurants. The owner is outstanding in her determination to meet guests' requirements. The rooms are not fancy, just clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and kind. The restaurant downstairs serves very good, economical breakfasts. Try it. My car was... More

What it lacks in accomodation it makes up for in charm and hospitality, especially the charm of it's owner Bertha, who made me feel like more of a long lost friend than a guest in a hotel. In fact after two days we were friends! i stopped over for two nights on my way back to Cancún. My room was... More

Real Azteca is very well located right in front of the fantastic Maya Museum of Chetumal and within walking distance of the town center and the waterfront. Most rooms seem a bit dark because they do not have views. They face backyards and corridors. But they are clean and comfortable enough to spend a couple of days. The management was... More

This hotel is clean, simple, and completely adequate for a stay in Chetumal, an interesting town on the Mexico-Belize border. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, everything worked, and there was hot water as well as internet access. They have a restaurant, but we didn't eat there. The rates were reasonable, and they even had cable... More
