I stayed at the Forest Hideaway for three weeks while on a photographic expedition. I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a simple place to stay while visiting the Bardia National Park. It is set in a well-maintained beautiful garden full of bulbul and other songbirds, and surrounded by lush pasture with buffalo to one side, and jungle to... More

I was very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful experience that we were given by Mohan and his team. The lodge is pleasantly rustic, a 5 minute walk from the gate of the National Park. During our stay here we experienced jeep safaris, nature walks and elephant rides. The jeep safaris and nature walks were particularly enjoyable with our guides having... More

We spent three nights here, a peaceful segue between the India and Nepal parts of our six-week trip. One day we trekked with a guide but even better was spending Holi in the beautiful village with its friendly children and women. This is a lovely place to stay. Don't miss it.

I spent 7 days in Forest Hideaway, the picturesque lodge in Bardia Park. What a great place and what an extremely helpful and friendly staff! My walking day in the park with the experienced guide Gautam was a real adventure, as I was lucky to see tigers, rhinos and wild elephants. Gautam taught me a lot about the park's flora... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Forest Hideaway on a 5 day package in March 2013 and had a great time. The staff really went out of their way to make us feel at home and look after us. From booking and organising our trip, to meeting us at the airport, ensuring we were well fed and enjoyed the... More

This is a wonderful place to stay if you like a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The de luxe rooms with their own gas geyser are very comfortable. The verandahs are a very pleasant place to sit and while away the hours with a book and a beer. The staff are all lovely and so welcoming. Every night in the cold season... More

We spent 6 days at Forest Hideaway in November and had a wonderful time. Mohan, the owner and his son organised our trip - return flights from Kathmandu and pick up at the airport. We had the 5 night package which was great value and allowed us to do safaris by elephant, boat, jeep and walking. We had plently of... More

Just returned from holiday in India and Nepal, I would like to share my experience with Forest Hideaway Hotel & Cottages in Bardia National Park. My positive feeling started long before arriving to Bardia as Mohan, the manager, helped us a lot with planning the trip and tailoring the stay according to our needs and adjusting it according to the... We spent 4 nights here between 16th-20th April 2012. We booked accommodation only and decided to arrange our activities inside the National Park separately (but through the same lodge). This worked well for us, but other guests spoke well of their package deals as well. We did river rafting, a couple of jungle walks and a full day jeep safari... More
