I do not know what places other travellers have stayed to call this the best hotel of their stay. In a place like Vietnam you would pay 12-15 USD for this as it only offers very basic stuff on a 2 star level (not too big room, aircondition, fridge, bathroom with shower). But because this is Myanmar and currently visitors... More

Stayed in Room 306, it was lovely. Upper level, good size, very clean, newer interior. Air con and hot water. The place has a sweet rooftop for breakfast. For 38 per night, it was a steal. My only, very small criticism would be that they charged for everything extra (i.e., internet, bikes, map, phone calls, and a sturdy price for... More

despite a few slight hiccups, we had a great time at the thiri marlar in new bagan. before we went to bagan we were a bit confused as to whether to stay in new bagan, old bagan or nyaung-u. we were very happy with our choice. new bagan is a bit more quiet, but it is easy to get a... More

We loved staying with the friendly and helpful staff at Thiri Marlar. Even before arriving it was great to be in touch via e-mail & to organise a pick up from the airport. Everybody was extremely helpful in contacting hotels for following stops on our trip, to help altering dates of flights etc. Breakfast is served with the best views... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights: the first night we were in one of the small rooms as this was all that was available. The remainder of our visit we were in one of the larger rooms. The small rooms are not very nice at all and very overpriced at $28, with noisy, old fashioned aircon and ancient... More

This place has it all - spacious rooms that are clean and well fitted, charming breakfasts on the rooftop, welcome drinks on arrival, airport pick ups that are reasonably priced, wifi, tour recommendations that are thoughtful, affordable and good quality, excellent customer service and a lovely view over the temples. A couple of power outages during our stay, but that's... More

Small impeccably run hotel with great service & very high standards - comfortable, immaculately clean rooms around a pretty central courtyard, very modern bathrooms (our showers were always hot and we had two a day because Bagan is dusty & very hot) and a roof top restaurant for dinner under the stars. Food is good, beer is cold & servers... More

We arrived in Bagan and asked a taxi to take us to a decent hotel. They suggested this hotel in New Bagan. On arrival we immediately loved the atmosphere and location, situated literally in the old temples. Standard rooms quite compact but the hotel was immaculate and very well cared for. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Did get a... More

The hotel is simply stunning. Its on the outskirts of New Bagan with lovely views across the plain even in hazy weather. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We didn't manage a single warm shower which was not even slightly problematic for me, but my partner really did want a warm shower. More

This was a lovely place to relax after the craziness of the big cities. The rooms are clean and nice. The staff are very helpful and speak good English. The free rum sour on arrival is genius as it is so nice you can't help but order more. The view from the terrace is wonderful, a great way to start... More
