This is third time to Balikpapan for coal mining business trip. I had been in hotel bluesky,le grandeur last visit. The best swimming pool is Grandeur besides beach, best restaurant is here in 7th floor. But wifi condition is so so.. Generally nice place..

Surprisingly, this is one of the most comfortable hotels I've stayed in. Decent and clean rooms. Good location - walking distance to nearby eateries. Complimentary cookies in the room and hot shower and clean bathroom. Recommended place to stay indeed

I lived at the Gran Senyiur for three weeks, and even if I would not rate it 5 stars, it certainly deserves praise. The Gran Senyiur may be an older hotel but i have been staying here on and off for the past 7 years and have always received value for money, larger rooms than normal, good water pressure, good food, i have stayed in newer hotels but they all have a plastic feel compared to the Senyiur.

We originally booked Gran Senyiur for 4 nights in Balikpapan. The Gran Senyiur claims on its website that it's the "Only 5 star in Kalimantan". Sounds great right? Wrong.
