We visited from Sweden during an exchange. The workers were super cool, they played our country music without us having to request. I would describe the location as prime, being close to the lake. The rooms have a very cool vibe and the hotel is affordable

Previously, their website before its suspension stated the hotel as being a 5-star hotel. This hotel has sadly lost its glory, saying that its a 2-star hotel would be a grieve overstatement. I checked in on referral but after payment and having been taken to my room, I realized the mistake I had made. The rooms were dirty and dusty and they lacked water, upon inquiry I was told to give it an hour, this elapsed with no changes. I had to be moved to another room, at least it was clean but still dusty from the hangers to the bedside tables to the bed headboard. Breakfast was also to be served at 7 am, this was not the case as the staff had not been informed on the same, which shows how management is wanting for this hotel. The owner, a Mr. William Mctough is also quite unreasonable and dishonest with his terms of service, if the hotel does not provide the service I require then the owner should not, at any one point, pin it on me, the customer. Regardless, the food was amazing. Thumbs up to the Chef.…

This is my second visit to this hotel, I should have learned the first time. After one night I checked out. Wi-Fi wasn't working. Wasn't working during my first visit either. Staff unhappy with management with no job satisfaction. Falling asleep at their post due to 14 hour shifts for 3500 kes a month!! This is slavery! Treated like rats by the management with total disregard for the guests. I'm done with this place.

my experiance was alot of fun with the friendly staffs and inspite the loud music from the neighbouring bar i got to realise the owner of the bar had an issue with the owner of the scottish trough staff from the scottish and the bar since i was introduced by there counterparts.

Booked through trip advisor on the 24th of August making a full payment. Landed up today (27th of august) and the hotel informs me they have no confirmation. I call up Jovago(jumia), the TripAdvisor vendor, and they talk to the hotel accountant and she insists they make an immediate payment before I get a room. Wait for half an hour. I check with the accountant who says she hasn't received it via m pesa and I call back the booking agency. They confirm they've transferred it. Check with the accountant and she says she's received a payment but it's not enough. Call up the agency again- they talk to the hotel team and say the rates are based on communication between the agency and the hotel. The hotel insists that an additional payment be made. They ask me if I can pay cash. It's about an hour already and I'm getting a raging headache. I call it quits. I ask the agency Jovago/jumia to refund my money and I then run for it to the nearest decent hotel called the imperial hotel express. It's like being in heaven after the shabby, run down Scottish tartan hotel. A taxi driver tells me that maybe it's a blessing in disguise cos of all the loud, shady bars next to the Scottish tartan. Anyways my point being- AVOID. @Trip advisor: please stop bookings for this hotel. …

Very disappointed, despite the reviews and ratings. There was extremely loud music from nearby bars, the showers were leaking, unprofessional staff and breakfast was average. It is unfortunate that there was nothing much to like........ the rooms though with a Scottish feel, they should have functional closets . Would not go back there!

Booked for a work trip after reading good reviews online. Extremely disappointed. Loud music on at the hotel and nearby bars (on a Tuesday) until 2am led to no sleep. Leaking bathrooms in two of the rooms and faulty lights in another. Late breakfast (despite specifically asking for it to be on time) and 1.5 hour wait for dinner. Staff tried to charge us for dinner despite being on half board rates. Staff were generally friendly and apologetic which is all I say anything positive about. Ended up in another hotel which cost less, included reduced price airport transfer, was clean quiet and comfortable with better food.

I can't find any faults with this hotel, staff are friendly, price was reasonable, breakfast was fresh and just what I needed, bathroom clean and rooms comfortable. Of course everything is not of the highest quality but for the price range they have everything just right. Just one problem was the key card system for the rooms was very sensitive and for a 4 night stay I was issued with a replacement card twice! Would I recommend it? Yes bit not for the picky. Would I stay again? Yes. Special mention: Temko, Millicent, Priscilla, Jackie and the lovely Lavender.
