Our stay here was fine and the price was definitely much more affordable than other options near Moremi. There were a few issues like a gigantic and very smelly dumpster near our cabin, and a strange smell in the cabin itself. The seating area for meals and drinks was beautiful and overlooking the river, however, most of the menu listed... More

If you are booking for a place to stay prior to flying out of Maun- this is a good choice. The only problem is the signposting in Maun- it is quite difficult to find anything even though there are only really two roads- so it took us a long time to find our way in Maun. The Lodge has nice... More

I stayed in Thamalakane River Lodge (TRL) with my wife 6 nights. We stayed there after 10 days on safari and after 8 month of travelling around the world. The very first night we woke up because someone came in the unlocked chalet next to ours and stole near sleeping woman her computer, camera and some other things! Fortunate she... More

At current the best place to stay in Maun, Botswana is Thamalakane River Lodge. The lodge is located about 20km from the airport, on the way to the Moremi Game Reserve. So if you seek a quick over night stay only, be aware of the distance to get there. The ambiance of the lodge and location right on the banks of... More

The lodge was very reasonable with very attentive staff and great prices. The rooms themselves were mediocre, but completely in line with the price. More

We spent a couple of nights here in June as a respite from camping and on our way up to Moremi. The room was adequate had everything we needed although appeared to have been built in a hurry! Our room lock was faulty and took some getting used to. The restaurant was ok and staff were very friendly. The best... More

We stayed here one night en route to Moreme Park. We stayed in the Kingfisher Bungalow for families. Beds were comfortable and the master bedroom looked out onto the river. The bathroom was a bit odd. The restaurant was exceptional and a great place to hang out and watch birds, read, etc. Staying at the lodge was a great break... More

Our experience of three nights at this lodge, in three different rooms, is similar to that of a previous poster. Little attention to detail and an untrained but friendly staff made our stay here mixed. Our first room was to the left of the restaurant (looking at the lodge from reception), and was the best room except that barking dogs... More

Great location right next to the river, the whole camp is wonderfully maintained, the rooms are modern and very romantic. Tasty breakfast and extremely friendly staff help this place become the best accommodation I've come across in Botswana so far. Thanks for everything ! More

Stayed 2 nights and generally had a comfortable stay. Location is the key selling point and the restaurant is good too. Service at the front desk could do with improvement - it took 5 minutes to check in because the staff member was unable to find a pen. Generally inefficient in this regard and with general requests. Also, I would... More
