Unfortunately we only got 2 nights here, instead of the 3 we planned for. Air Vanuatu had changed us to the morning flight, and we had missed the email informing us. (When I found it, it mentioned nothing of a flight change, the title was 'confirmation of flights' - although the new times were printed below, in small print, so... More

There are really only two places to stay on Tanna Island other than small guesthouses and would-be hotels: White Grass and Evergreen resort. I spent five days at Evergreen: would that it could have been longer. You have a choice of rooms with shared facilities or individual bungalows directly facing the ocean. Needless to say, if you can at all... More

Thank you Alan for you kind words about Tanna Evergreen Resort, I will update some of your points as we are pretty excited about some developments. REEF: " At low tide it's near impassable, and dangerous to try and walk across...though the local kids scamper over it as if it was a sandbox."... If you wear tennis shoes, you are... More

Spent just the one night in Tanna Evergreen for a trip, from Efate, to the volcano. Our room was spacious with fantastic ocean views and the restaurants also had fantastic views with good food too. We had a problem getting hot water but were very quickly moved to another room with no fuss. Probably too short a trip to make... More

Tanna has the world's most accessable active volcano, great coral to snorkel over, blue holes, giant banyans, wild horses and nightmare roads. So I chose to take my new husband to Evergreen Tanna for our four nights adventure, a gorgeous resort with basic bungalows set on the ocean front, where shallow water over rocks leads out to a deep drop-off... Thank you for your kind comments, although we are not the owners of the resort we are equaly delighted to hear that your stay with us was a pleasurable one. The indigenous owners Sam and Merian Mumakee are not familiar with communicating online hence this is the first ever "Management Response" in Tripadvisor from this resort), I will do so... More

A truly wonderful place to stay. Stayed in Feb for 4 nights and would love to return again. The rooms are very clean with mossie nets and a good bed. Flushing toilets and hot showers make all the differance. The staff are fantastic with a great English and French spoken. The resort takes most credit cards so that was great... More

We arrived here a day earlier than expected but the staff were very welcoming & soon had us settled into the very spacious family cottage. There are 2 enormous bedrooms separated by a large sitting room, vanity & toilet room & a divine outdoor shower room. There's no better way to enjoy a Vanuatu evening than showering outside under the... More

This resort is located overlooking a sensational reef on the remote island of Tanna. There is no mains electricity and no valet service, internet or ATM;s - you are on Tanna. If you want luxery look elsewhere but if you want a base to experience Vanuatu this is the place. Depending on tides It can be difficult to go snorkelling,... More

We were booked into Evergreen as part of an overnight tour to Mount Yasur, and were lucky enough to get an ocean view room (NOT shared bathroom like the other room type). I'm not used to 'roughing it' and was quiet worried seeing the reviews on TripAdvisor. When we got there I was shocked that people could write such horrible... More

We moved here for one night after staying at a local bungalow. The resort is nice and generally relaxing, we paid for the cheapest room (not much dearer than our previous bungalow) and it was the room closest to Reception (Room#1). The room was clean and tidy, but very small, with a shared bathroom (shared with the bungalow next door).... More

When you visit Tanna Evergreen Bungalows it is easy to forget where you are - one a small island in the middle of the South Pacific. Some of the writers expectations beggar belief. I have been going to Tanna every year since 2003 and over the years the place has improved year on year. The owners strive to make the... More
