Me and another graduate student from the U.S. stayed here for 2 nights in February 2012, and we loved it. First off follow the driving directions they give you and not google's. We went with google directions and it had been raining which flooded the unpaved road we were on and our rental got stuck in the mud. James, one... More

This was an amazing experience and hopefully one i'll get to visit again in the future , everything from the accomodation, food and drive around the reserve was first class , i only wish we had booked for more than the one day we had. The drives around with Corne were great , saw some memorable things and he even gave... More

I was sceptical of this due to so many good reviews. However the reviews do still not do this place justice. The accommodation, food and people are all unique and truly awsome. What could have been an ok time was made incredible and the attention to detail and the personal attention is second to none. Cheers guys for an amazing... More

We have just returned from South Africa and can honestly say that our stay at Makhasa was the highlight of our four week stay. This was greatly due to the wonderful hospitality of Corne, James and the Makhasa staff. We made several game drives with Corne and he is clearly passionate about what he does, our 10 year old son... There are simply no words to explain the great experience we had at the Makhasa Game Reserve. The rooms are fabulous, the food was excellent and the staff (James, Corne and Monica) were incredible. You can feel they have true passion for their job and they make certain your stay is a most memorable one. This accommodation is not an... More

It really was a fantastic stay and we had a great time. The fact that they made our weekend so special was great and really made it worth our while and money. We met great people who gave us a good time. We left with sad faces and thought about the next time returning. James, Corne and Kim made us... More

We stayed for 3 nights in April. The accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a wood deck looking onto the reserve. We woke up to Nyala, Impala, Warthog and Duiker grazing outside our cabin. It's a small, private reserve (without lion or elephant) - although it borders Phinda where you can view the Big 5. The guides were... More
