Was going on a short weekend trip to the city, just 2d/1n, and we choose the hotel, due this site. The online booking was fast and great, the prices where in dollars - around 132 for a room with 2 beds. (standart room), we just wanted a clean/nice place to sleep and not much else. The check in the afternoon... More

I stayed a number of weeks in this hotel and found it to have positive and negative points throughout my time there. I did however read a number of very negative reviews before I arrived which I would say I now disagree with. A number of rooms, mine included look out onto the inside of the hotel providing no natural... More

Nice lobby. Shabby rooms, even in the tower: mold, faulty curtains, unreliable internet. Worst imaginable location. Way too expensive, even for Venezuela. More

I liked the lobby. That was a good start. But when I checked into my room, I found that I couldn't get the promised wireless Internet signal. After some minutes, the front desk switched me to the "tower" part of the hotel. (The hotel is divided into two sections.) There, the Internet through a cable was fine, and the hotel... More

My first room was a standard with a non-working phone, an odd odor and quite small. When the phone could not be fixed I was upgraded to a better room in the new wing without even requesting the upgrade. Venezuelan hotels are often criticized for poor service, but I thought that the desk staff and management were extremely helpful. Yes,... More

This hotel is pretty new. For some reason, checking in and out take FOREVER. Plan ahead if you are in a rush. Other than that, the hotel was OK. Rooms are new and clean. The resturant was average at best. Save your money and skip the breakfast buffet. The hotel is located in the middle of an industrial area, so... More

When my family and I travel to Maracaibo each year, we always stay in the Tower of the Maruma Hotel. You pay for what you get. There are cheaper hotels in Maracaibo but nothing will compare to the comfort and elegance of the Tower. I would suggest that people visiting the hotel should stay in the Tower and not the... More

This is the best hotel in Maracaibo. It is just sad. The service is lazy, unprofessional and amazingly clumsy. It’s really, really bad. I stayed here for 1 week (local annual Oil Show) and they messed up my reservation made 6 months in advance, don’t care about problems on my room, forget requests among other things. The room was claustrophobic... More

Well, I see the last review posted on this hotel is mine :) As much as I didn't like the hotel last time, I didn't have much of a choice - it's literally the only place to stay in Maracaibo on short notice with half decent prices. Surprise, surprise, this time I got one of the renovated rooms. It was... More
