I stayed here for 9 nights whilst exploring Easter Island. The rooms are clean but a little basic. There's no airconditioning or TV but a small fridge is provided. I took a travel kettle plus tea and coffee, bought some milk in town which I kept in the fridge. This was an absolute life saver for me when I came... More

We stayed here for New year's eve. The location is very good, only 5-10 minutes away from restaurants and downtown. The rooms are clean, very small, no tv, no air conditioning, and bring your ear plugs because of the roosters!! The breakfast was poor, the papaya juice is the only thing that saves it. Very nice gardens.

Reading the reviews pre-trip, I didn't expect much from hotels in Hanga Roa. My expectations were met at Vai Moana. The hotel wasn't bad. It was fine. The rooms were spacious. There was no hair dryer provided (no biggie). WiFi was provided, but it was difficult to get coverage in the room. The floors were on the dirty side, but... More

It was a cute place, a few blocks outside town but easily walkable. Although the beds were the softest we had in South America, the residential roosters got us up early, and it was so cold in the room at night that the thin blankets weren't sufficient and there was no environmental control. The bathrooms could be updated, and the... More

Very unhelpful staff. Room was so-so. Floor was dirty, picked up dirt on my socks and shoes. Shower doors required brute strength to open and close. Food was just horrible. It is just not a place I'd ever stay again.

Easter Island is a laid back, no frills kind of place so need to have reasonable expectations. Prices are high for hotels and food. Vast majority of foodstiffs have to be imported . Vai Moana was cute, clean and relaxing with decent breakfast buffet; Rooms are very no frills, i.e. no TV, phone, air conditioning, hair dryer, room service, etc.... More

The people at Vai Moana could not have been more accomodating or helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The superior room was clean and spacious at the very end of the building, offering peace and quiet. I read one review that faulted the hotel for not having TVs in the room. Who goes to... More
