Kilsby Country House - one night was not enough! My mother (68) and I (40) visited Kilsby B&B for one night in late October 2011. As we found with all of our UK accommodations, it is best to arrive your first night in the light of day. Because of this, we had no trouble finding this lovely cottage nestled in... More

Are you looking for a base to meander through the beautiful hills of the Brecon Beacons, the reservoirs of the Elan Valley and the wilderness which is the Cambrian Mountains, then look no further than Kilsby Country House. Set in its own secluded valley, surrounded by nature at its best, you could almost become a "Couch Twitcher". A fantastic warm... More

Kilsby is surrounded by scenic views, green hills dotted with sheep, a beautiful river running closeby, the sound of song birds everywhere, perfect for anyone who wants to get away from it all. Sue, our host was really lovely, she made us feel at home in her home, helped us plan our day, made us our breakfast in the morning... More

I have to admit we are a little biased - we've been here half a dozen times; most recently over the Easter break. 3 days of complete chill out. Beautiful location, friendly service, fantastically comfy beds and a breakfast so full that I defy anyone to eat more than 2 days in a row. If you do, it'll be well... More

My husband and I had a lovely stay. Sue really makes you feel welcome and at home. The location and history of the house are great. The house had a view over a beautiful vally with trees. Breakfast was great. Some nice touches, like tea, coffee, homemade cake in the room. The room was nice, spacious and cozy. A definite... More

I found Kilsby Cottage on a pot luck search, after booking onto a two day course in the area. I arrived late on the first night to a very warm and friendly welcome. The bedrooms are well presented and you are provided with a tasty plate of home made cake and flat jacks which cannot be resisted. The next morning... More

As a group of friends we have now stayed at Kilsby Cottage for the fifth time. It is the standard of the accomodation, which is excellent, and the fact that you are perfectly located for the many bike trails and routes in and around the Irfon Forest and Llanwrtyd Wells that keep us coming back for more. The cottage itself... More

Thank you, Mark, for writing such a wonderful review. It's always good to see you all and I'm so pleased you enjoy staying in the cottage so much. I can't believe what fantastic weather you had! That really was as good as it gets in February. I wish I could claim some credit for that but sadly not. We look... More

I booked into Kilsby house for a short stay with my Mum and my Son. We loved the position of the house, the scenery is truly fantastic and the house is packed with history (which we found particularly interesting). We were made to feel very welcome and it was lovely to feel part of Sue and Chris' home, whilst given... More

Three generations of our family arrived at Kilsby House which was 'just like coming home' as we had recently found out that my father was born there over eighty years ago. Whatever images we had in our minds could not prepare us for such a beautiful setting. The views are breathtaking, the house beautiful, the hosts Sue and Chris (... More

How lovely for you to find the house that your father was born in and to be able to stay here yourself. I'm so pleased to think that we provided that opportunity for you and that you enjoyed your visit. This house does have an interesting history which we're gradually piecing together, thanks to people like yourself and your family.... More
