I have stayed in Ullapool hostel several time over the years and it has always been a good experience. The dorm over looks the loch and what a view. The staff are helpful and friendly. A big kitchen which was well equipped with all you need to cook a hearty meal from scratch. I'll no doubt be back again .

The very polite, pleasant and helpful chap behind the reception desk was able to find a double (yes, a double!) bed in a private room for my boyfriend and me. The hostel was nice and the staff were very friendly. You have to make your bed when you get there. The room had 3 beds (one bunk and a single) and was pretty small, but it had a great view of the harbour.

We arrived late but that was no problem, the lady on reception was excellent and helpful even although the computer was playing up, but we were soon shown to our room which was clean and warm. It was a private room for two with a bunk bed which may not be to all tastes but ended up being quite romantic.... More

It's just 3mins walk from the citylink bus-stop and just on the shore of the loch. Very quiet and peaceful place. A large kitchen and dining room with enough self-storage shelf. This hostel is like many other of the syha hostels, the only problem is that the main door closes during the night (I can't remember the hour). This youth hostel is situated right on the shore at Ullapool. Our view from the room was gorgeous. The hostel was clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped - the best we have experienced. Everything was clean, although the rooms were a bit small and the mattresses not that comfortable. The kitchen was clean and big and the dining room was very pleasant with a great view on the harbour. The hosts were very friendly. Street parking is possible between 5pm and 9 am, otherwise there is a big free parking about 5 mins... More

I was here in Feb or a couple of nights and there were only 2 of us at the most ever staying here. Very tidy kitchens and bathrooms. Lovely warm cosy fire. We watched DVDs in the evenings. Ullapool is a lovely village to get away from it all - highly recommend visiting.
