Stayed here for family reunion. Refurbished rooms were very good, staff helpful, chef a real character! (Food excellent). Poor wine list/stock although hotel allowed our own with small corkage charge.

Extremely shabby room tucked at the back/basement of hotel behind two fire doors down two corridors and two flights of steps, difficult to negotiate with luggage. Only ever saw one member of staff who was reception when we arrived and taking our breakfast order and serving breakfast the following morning. Tired decor, rooms not particulalry clean, corridoors smelling bad, no one about. We would not go back.
