I was travelling around Dumfries and came across this Olde Worlde establishment! The welcome was warm and very friendly. The owner an Irish lady was the perfect hostess the staff were so helpful,nothing was too much trouble. The decor was dated, but, everywhere was spotless.The food was well presented and plentiful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Sorry but if this is AA 2 star, when did they last inspect. The staff let down by very tired decorative condition. really not clean enough although bed and linen ok. stayed for 2 nights, very clean comfortable room (though a bit dated), very friendly staff, excellent food - highly recommended - bar prices reasonable, i travel throughout Dumfries and Galloway and would return here every time.

A freezing night - radiator inefficient and a haligen heater provided that looked dangerous to leave on during the night. Place was dirty - especially the bathroom. Stayed for two nights in a single room. Room was comfortable and clean. Can be a bit noisy but didn't really bother me too much. Breakfast was good. Bar downstairs that does good value lunch and dinner.

The welcome was amazing, the room was standard, clean and comfortable. We had a weeks travel round Dumfries & Galloway and this was one hotel we booked. The staff were so friendly and breakfast was good. Would highly recommend.

Chintzy (late 70's - early 80's - but clean. They even wash the back of the toilet door! I have an obsession with that! NO shake & vac smell trying to disguise smells - which trust me is a bonus! Ultra friendly. Bar prices good. Couldn't do enough fabulous service. Thank you x
