My husband and I arrived at Gairloch early evening (7/4/13) and thankfully Shirley still had a vacancy. She was extremely friendly and welcoming, the bed was super super comfy, the room had a gorgegous view and the breakfast was scrummy - what more can you ask for! Would definately stay here again, was disappointed that we couldn't stay longer but... More

We arrived there in the evening last minute after a long drive and luckily there was a vacancy. We stayed in a cosy and gorgeous double room with a fantastic sea view. A very comfy bed too. There is also a twin room next door so ideal for a family of 4 to stay. It's a shame we were only... More

We arrived quite late in the evening in Gairloch and were delighted to knock on the door of Ian and Shirley and learn that they had 2 rooms free. It was a lovely experience from arriving all the way through to having a lovely breakfast with everything you need to set you up for another day exploring the West coast.... More

We arrived at Wayside at 7pm, not having booked, but just trying our luck knocking on the doors of any B and B’s we saw and received a warm welcome. Shirley showed us around the available rooms. There are four rooms; two have an en-suite and two share a well stocked bathroom. A double room and a twin room share... More

I came home to Gairloch because my Dad had recently passed away and my Mum was in hospital, to say it was a difficult time for me is an understatement. However the wonderful Shirley met me at the door and gave me a a very warm welcome, this was the start of Iain and Shirley's kindness and total consideration. I... More

Arrived late afternoon after driving too many miles in too shorter time. Recieved a very warm and friendly welcome and was shown to a very clean and comfortable room. Was offered a varied choice of breakfast and qiuckly ticked all the boxes for the morning. The breakfast was spot on and Shirley and Ian will obviously do everything they can... More

Arrived at Gairloch after dark having made no advance accommodation arrangements. Followed the main road through the village proper picking out a few BnBs as I went along and the Wayside Guest House was the one that appealed most: a quaint double-storey (what we refer to here in Grahamstown, South Africa) "Settler-style" house, that reminded me of home. I introduced... More
