Our first visit to the Captain Cook in Staithes.The bar staff are friendly, the chips are homemade, and the atmosphere is as a pub should be with wooden floors and roaring fire ! A great place to sit on a Saturday afternoon reading the papers.

Wooden floors, real ale, log fire all very good but the seats & curtains really have seen better days & no hand drying facilities in the toilets wouldn't take much to put right.

Great that the Cook is continuing and developing. Long may it reign over Staithes!

The rooms may not be modern and luxurious (YET), but the owners, staff and locals really make up for it. Hi If you suffer from pieitus sometimes known as piemonia I cannot express how fantasic the steal n ale pie is here. Couldn't finish it !! The beer I had ( driving ) was ace.The boss and his staff are super friendly and we are looking forward to the beer bash next month.
