Stayed here in June for two nights for a family wedding in Lyme. We all loved The Sanctuary B&B! Mariko is so welcoming and was the perfect hostess. The whole place is unique and different, with books everywhere that you can pick up and browse through. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms modern and very clean. Breakfast was... More

It may not be for everyone but we loved it. Surrounded by books across three floors, it is right in the heart of the town. We chose to have the Japanese breakfast made by our gorgeous host Mariko. Not only was it delicious but it made a lovely change from the standard cooked breakfasts you get at most B&Bs. There... More

We decided last minute to stay the night in Lyme Regis and found this intriguing B&B via a google search. The location was ideal, the room was just gorgeous - very cosy and homely with THE most comfortable bed - and the breakfast - cooked by Mariko, the lovely hostess with mostest - was superb. No complaints whatsoever and we'll... More

We stayed here one night on a recommendation and found it to be very comfortable and the owners, Bob and Mariko, were so welcoming. It is quirky with the books literally crammed in everywhere but I found it charming. We had the front room with the view of the sea, but no-one else was staying that night (there are only... More

Spent a delightful three days here with two friends. Comfortable beds in quirky comfortable & immaculate rooms filled with books, one room with a bay window overlooking the sea and the main street. Delicious breakfast beautifully served and always with a smile. There is a large lounge that we could use throughout the day & evening, so we took advantage... More

We visited for 4 nights with our 9 month old son. With two others in our party we were given the run of the entire place and really made to feel at home. Mariko provided a lovely cot and toys for our son which saved space in the car and meant he was always occupied. The location is great for... More

Very enjoyable stay at The Sanctuary over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend. Bob and Mariko made us feel very welcome indeed and even invited friends we were travelling with over for breakfast. The B&B is in a perfect location - seafront, shops and restaurants all just a short stroll away. There is a bathroom per room, both of which are... More

We were made to feel very welcome by Mariko who could not do enough for us. The B&B itself was quirky and beautifully private, with books from floor to ceiling. Our room, which faced the sea, was immaculately clean and very comfortable-we loved it. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves books and a real old world... More

Bob and Mariko couldn't have been more welcoming, even though I announced myself by knocking over and breaking a bowl containing postcards in the bookshop with my clumpy suitcase. I didn't actually buy any books while I was here (instead I sold one to Bob), but if you love browsing this is the place for you - there are books... More

This village and this b&b were the perfect locations for our group of Italian friends, all fond of English literature! Thanks to Bob for waiting us until 8.00 pm on the arrival day and thanks to Mariko for her warm welcome and her breakfast. It was just one night, but we have some good pictures and some of your books... More
