I would echo the comments of others who have stayed in rooms on the ground floor of St. Edmund's House. The noise from people in the rooms above is quite intolerable - you can hear every movement. Unfortunately for us, the guests above seemed to walk around in boots or heavy heeled shoes for most of the time, and seemed...

We have often treated ourselves to a meal in one of Rick Stein’s establishments but this is the first time we have stayed in St Edmund’s House. It should be noted that although these rooms appear under the Hotel category on Trip advisor, they are only rooms with no sitting room or lounge facilities normally associated with a quality hotel....

Pleasant, not great. No service of any kind. Room overheated. Outside noise levels unbelievable - extractor fans and angle grinders at 11pm! Bedside lighting dreadful - there really are environmentally acceptable alternatives to those gloomy greenish low-energy bulbs. All in all, along with the rest of the Stein empire, it lacks a sense of hospitality. It's just business - as...

My husband and I spent 3 nights here for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and it was truly wonderful. Parking was easy, staff were marvellous, kind and helpful, room was spacious, clean with a lovely view to the sea. The bathroom was amazing, fluffy white towels and bathrobes with luxurious toiletries. It was only a short walk to the harbour and...

I booked this weekend away for my husbands 50th birthday. We stayed for 3 nights at St Edmunds house in Treyarnon. The room was beautiful. My husband also went on the cookery course, which he absolutely loved. All of the staff were so helpful, from the restaurant staff to the housekeeping and the school. would love to go back, but...

We abandoned a rather wet 'glamping' holiday for two nights at Rick Stein's St. Edmunds part of the St Petroc's hotel and we loved this place. Rooms were spacious with stunning views, service was excellent (thank you Laura for squeezing us in) and the breakfast in the Seafood Restaurant was really 5 star. If you fancy a really special break...

We have just had a fabulously relaxing weekend. Our room was nicely decorated, with sitting area, lovely spacious bathroom (shower roomy enough for two!), huge comfortable bed, and views across to Rock. Breakfast at The Seafood Restaurant was just as good. The staff were all friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The room was perhaps a tad on the pricey...

We had a beautiful room with fantastic views across to Rock. (Constantine). The bed was large and comfortable with lovely Frette bed linen. The bathroom was spacious with Moulton Brown toiletries. Private parking a bonus in Padstow. Staff were all friendly helpful and efficient. the food was fantastic. We had a great stay and would recommend to everyone.
Stayed in Polzeath room in St Edmunds for three nights on a Rick Stein winter package deal. The deal included a 3 course meal each evening, one in the Seafood Restaurant, one in the Bistro and one in Stein's Cafe. Breakfast each morning was in the Seafood Restaurant. The Polzeath room was, as far as my wife and I were...
