My husband and I booked the hotel for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were brilliant, very friendly, warm and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and were both very impressed with the food and service. A special thank you must go to Kelly who greeted us at the beginning of our trip... More

Came for the poetry festival, a short walk down town. Hotel was great. Friendly staff, superb food in the restaurant & good beer in the bar. What more could you wish for? Will be back. More

Having been to other Flying Kiwi venues the 'Empty Nesters Club', as we laughingly call our group of four diners, were keen to try the Wells branch. We ate in the Orangerie which was very nice, the tables are not too close together and they serve a great pint of Adnams in the bar. Order a Wells crab salad and... More

I took my wife away for the weekend and we ended our wedding anniversary outing at The Crown for lunch. We were both very impressed with both the food and the service. We had eaten here a few times before and will always go back as we have never been disappointed. It is also very good value for money and... More

I had really high hopes for this hotel but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I can only assume the hype is because there is nothing much to compare it to in Wells. Everything is done on a shoestring - from the kettle, to the loo paper, to the duvet to the furnishings. Cheap and tacky like... More

Having a relaxing weekend in Norfolk and thought we would drop by the Crown for a quick bite and a drink over lunchtime. Have been a couple of times before and to it's sister pub in East Rudham and have always been very happy with the service and the quality. Unfortunately, today things were not the same. Walked into and... More

This year marks the anniversary of the Royal Wedding, Aoril, 2011 at which time we were 'granted' an extra Bank Holiday. I chose to visit Wells Next the Sea, as I researched the town, since my rleative, William Temple was harbour master there back in the nineteenth century, and indeed lived in the Buttlands, which is where The Crown Hotel... We visited for an evening meal and although a bit pricey felt it was a nice place, i think the girl that served us was Kelly she was very efficient and seemed to attend to everyone without seeming rushed etc. The guy behind the bar was extremely jovial. More

The hotel is situated in a very pleasant square in Wells. The hotel looks nice on the outside and is also nice on the inside - a semi-rustic charm. We ordered drinks in the bar where there was piped music. When we were shown to our table the restaurant was mercifully free of any muzak. We all settled for the 2... More

We stayed for 4 night in a B&B nearby and were recommend to try any of the Flying Kiwi Pubs for food. The Cown did not disappoint: After a few mediocre experiences in local Pubs this was a busy, clean, fresh and stylish place to eat with a menu that is better than the typical average pub but not as...
