We stayed at the hotel on Friday and Saturday night while we attended a wedding at Highclere House. The room we had, Wiiliam of Orange, was excellent. The restaurant and bar were also very good. The hotel is well situated for exploring the area and we would cerainly return here again.

Have stayed here many times over the last few years. Colin and the team are great hosts. Rooms are very nice with the beds being really comfortable, the best i've slept in! Good selection at breakfast and anything hot is always really nicely cooked. Never ate in the restaurant but have eaten off the bar menu. There is always a... More

A comfortable hotel without being pretentious, situated along side a river in the centre of Hungerford. Sheltered courtyard seating area and secluded garden. Our room which was in an annex was spacious and airy, however the balcony overlooking the garden could not be accessed as apparently it was unsafe. Also although we paid for a superior double there was no bath... We arrived last Friday lunchtime for a two night stay (19-21 April 2013). We were early so our room was not quite ready which gave us time to have a coffee & decide on our lunch menu. Checked in to our room, but, sadly the balcony was out of bounds due to repair works but this was no problem for... More

we had a courtyard room and were not disappointed at all, clean and spacious enough for 2 (and a dog). The staff were all attentive and friendly , particularly the Hispanic lady (sorry didn't get her name). normally difficult to find dog friendly hotel of quality - no problems here. the rooms would not give away that dogs were welcome... Chose this charming coaching-style small hotel for an overnight stay prior to visiting Highclere Castle. Check-in was smooth and we were given a complimentary upgrade from superior to deluxe room which was a nice touch. We had the Anne of Cleves room No. 3 in the main part of the hotel which was a good size. Bathroom and accessories fine... More

We have just had a night in the Bear Hotel - the hotel it's self was clean, tidy and welcoming warmth from the cold outside chill. We were happy with our rooms, lovely bedding, clean and tidy. Dinner was a totally different experience, like others we were booked in on Dinner, Bed & Breakfast but were told we would be... More

I'm very sorry that this reviewer had issues with the food they received last Sunday evening; But even more disappointed that they did not give us an opportunity to rectify the issues on the night, before they added this comment. The staff would have without fuss simply offered the guests an alternative to ensure they were happy. I shall speak... More

We stayed here for a wedding at Highclear Castle because all the other recommended hotels were booked up. It's clean, lots of parking, easy to find, modern breakfast/restaurant area and the staff are helpful. The hotel is in the cute town of Hungerford with window views of a lovely stream running down the back of the barn rooms. I recommend tutti's... More

I stay at this hotel quite frequently through business and have found the rooms in the main hotel very clean and with great decor. Rooms in the outlying blocks have not gone through the same modernisation process but are adequate non the less.

We stayed one night and got one lovely bedroom facing the river. The room was in a converted barn behing main building and had a character wooden structure with a generous area and king size bed. As mentioned in some other reviews such a lovely room would benefit from a better shower. Staff was very welcoming and helpful in arranging... More
