It was a beautiful sunny evening so myself & my fiancée ended up going for a spin. We wound up in Monkstown so we called into the Bosun. It's a lovely pub/restaurant over looking the water.
It wasn't a very busy evening but there was a pleasant atmosphere. We were seated quickly & received our menus. There's a huge range...

Went there for lunch with my Uncle who lives close by as he has some medical difficulties which the Bosun staff make wonderful accommodations for and which make him very comfortable. The staff are outstanding, and the service prompt and compassionate. We ordered the crab claws which were tasteless indicating that they were of the frozen variety prior to cooking....

Spent our first three night in Ireland here and we couldn't have asked for any better. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The food was out of this world. The rooms were very clean. The bar and restaurant had a great vibe. Free wifi too which was a bonus.
Have to say I was sad to...

We tend to visit the Bosun for different celebrations over many years. Recently we called for a late lunch on a quiet Tuesday. Despite the bar having many free tables we waited ages for a menu. So i got it myself. The waitress more interested in clearing tables. After ten minutes a waiter came for our order. The food was...

Adults had starters which were enjoyable, we then had to wait over an hour for main courses despite questioning staff. All main courses were cold when they...

For a nice place for a Sunday lunch or early evening meal there are few places in Cork that can beat the Bosun. Just stop by the Bar (not the Restaurant), order fish, enjoy the atmosphere and the company and you can't go wrong.
Ate here - two adults an two children - had an open ham sandwich, Brie starter, and chicken sandwich - ranged from good to very good. Speedy friendly service - not cheap / expensive (average for Ireland) - would recommend - nice location when weather is good
I had lunch here today with my husband. He works nearby and we return again, again to the Bosun. We tend to go for the same dishes too, my husband always has salmon, either an open sandwich of salmon on lovely soda bread with lots of fresh salad, cost €10.50 or whatever hot salmon dishes are on the menu. I...
