The hotel isn't a hotel... It's a school turned in to a hotel over the summer. Staff was friendly. The restaurant was ok but we went to a local restaurant next to the hotel the second night and it was really good. So we would recomand going to another resaurant than the one located in the Hotel.

Did a full circle around Iceland in June -- this was my first stop from Reykjavik and I was not disappointed. It was early June and just opened so not croweded. it's a great place to stay that is situated after the National Park and a short ride from the Geysir and Gulfoss -- the spa/baths/hot springs next door are... We had wanted to stay at the Hotel Geysir but that was booked out four months ahead in July. I am glad we chanced on this one, via Trip Advisor. It is only a 20 minute drive from Geysir and has its own charm. Used during school terms as a university boarding centre, one would have expected more basic accommodation.... More

This is the fifth night in Hotel Edda, so it is free. The room, services are all good. Except the receptionist might misunderstand my words. We had to move all our luggage from one room to another room and later move back. All in all, will still recommend.

Well located hotel to be in the middle of the Golden Circle attractions. Unpleasent smell of the soup of the day in the foyer (broccolli one night, mushroom the next), smell did not extend to the bedrooms and there were great views from the rooms overlooking the lake.Smell was so offputting that we ate out both nights (loved the Lindin... We stayed in several Edda-hotels - this one was the best. Lovely position at the lake - good food, usual large Edda-breakfast. Ideal stay for one or two nights. Don't forget - if you stay five nights in Edda-hotels (there are several all around Iceland) the third night you get one breakfast for free and the fifth night is free... More

This hotel is excellent for the money, Our room had its own bath which is rare for an Edda hotel and the service was excellent. They were kind and helpful and all with in our budget. I would recommend Edda for anyone looking for a budget hotel that still manages to be clean and give great service. Getting your 5th... More

This hotel serves as a dorm for high-school students during the year. The rooms reflect that. They are clean, but do not have a television or phone. Nice location, though, and the dinner at their restaurant was quite good. I would have no problem staying there again.

I stayed in this Edda hotel for 1 night. The building is really a school hostel during the winter and it becomes a summer hotel for tourists. It's a good place, with all comforts ensuite,it's clean too! And my room had the view directly on the lake so it was a truely amazing. very good breakfast . Nice staff.

We booked this hotel at the end of our 3-week tour of Iceland. The IKI is an Edda Hotel overlooking the lake Laugarvatn, which is about 100 km from Reykjavik. Edda hotels are boarding schools turned into hotels in the summer period. IKI Laugarvatn was like all Edda hotels --> just OK but nothing sensational.
