We stayed one night in this bunker. No service, no standard....just 175 Euros for a room. No thanks! There is no pictures on the walls, no hairdryers, no tv, no phones in the rooms. We booked the hotel via the hotel website which worked out fine. Anyway we did not get the information that this hotel is just very low... More

We had low expectations on arrival due to previous reviews. The hotel looks like decent quality demountable buildings set in a lava field. However, all three of the hotels we have stayed in Iceland had rather dour exteriors but inviting interiors. Our room, 37, was clean and simply furnished with beds, night table, small coffee table and chair, small desk... More

The location of this hotel, beside Route 1 but away from any towns or villages, is its most memorable characteristic. Its grey boxy structure is functional, and it was disconcerting in bad weather to have nothing in view but a few sheep huddling together. The rooms, however, were very nicely laid out, with room to hang clothes and put suitcases... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I must say there were the best I've had in Iceland. When I first saw the outside of the hotel I was quite disappointed, but the moment I saw that the room, though very small, was perfectly clean and adequately equipped, that all changed. The beds were especially comfortable. The surroundings... More

In french, "null part" means nowhere. While planning our trip to Iceland, my husband told us we will be staying in a hotel in the middle of nowhere called "Nupar". When were arrived and saw the architecture, my heart got heavy but surprisingly the rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable. It may not be a luxury hotel but... More

My husband and I were driving along the south coast of Iceland without a set itinerary. At about 5:30 in the evening we saw the signs for the Islandia Hotel and thought we’d better check it out, as we were unsure if there would be any other options further on. When we turned into the driveway and got a look... More

We agree with the other comments- Soviet-area architecture goes pre-fab on the outside- desolate and sad looking! But inside was a warm and cozy with a smiley staff and chic Scandivanian design. The room was fine, a nice big window with a great view of the lava fields, sheep and a glacier in the background. The bathroom was just ok... More

The outside is rather unprepossessing - Stalinist chic meets prefabrication. However the hotel is much better than its architecture. Rooms though lacking TV (is there a signal so far from anywhere anyway) were clean and comfortable with nice wetroom quite powerful hot showers. The food came as a buffet and was really quite good, albeit simple and unpretentious. At the... More

Splendid place - not only hotel itself but all surroundings/ lanscape around. Everything was just fantastic! Only 1 minor flaw: nothing to eat in the evening, hotel restaurant offers only ~$50 worth fixed menu dinner and that's it, nearest other eatery is 30km away

Having read some of the tripadvisor reviews we were expecting the worst. In fact it does look hideous from the outside, and you almost feel like turning around without checking it out. In fact it is a very pleasant hotel; it has very large windows so you can make the most enjoy the wonderful scenery. The hotel is in the... More
