My wife and I stayed for nearly a week in Las Caletas at Christmas, 2011, until New Year's Eve. We feel so very lucky to have chosen this place!, and having had a chance during our week to get to know the place well, I can't imagine returning to this area and staying anywhere else. We stayed in one of... More

We stayed at Las Caletas in 1994 and finally had a chance to return in January. This place was still just as wonderful as it was all those years ago. The staff and Jolanda were friendly and helpful, the food was tasty, the sleeping space comfy, and nice birding from the lawn. Couldn't ask for more. Oh, and they served... More

My wife, 4 year ol d aughter and I just spent a wonderul week at Las Caletas staying in the Duplex accomodation. It really is a well run place, all our transfers ran smoothly, tours were excellent, staff friendly, professional and eager to please without getting in your face, the setting as so many others have commented is wonderful and... We were very fortunate to spend a week over the holiday season with our family at Las Caletas. We love Costa Rica- everything about it- and this was our third time in Drake Bay. We have stayed in 5 other lodges in the Drake Bay area, and Las Caletas is by far the best. Everything ran smoothly, from land and... More

I absolutely loved staying at Las Caletas. We stayed for four nights in early Jan 2012. The surroundings were peaceful, casual, with a feeling of adventure. We stayed in a tent that I would call luxury camping. The tent was on a platform with a double queen size bed inside it, headboard, lounge chairs - not your average camping trip.... More

My first time to see the ocean. All I have to say this was the most beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the tent camp for 4 days. It was so exciting and thrilling to be woken up by howler monkeys. The scenery was spectacular. The owners of the lodge were amazing. Very informative, smart, witty, and very pleasant.... More

We stayed here in December for 5 nights and enjoyed our visit, so I feel slightly guilty in only giving this place 3 stars when it's had so many great reviews. Good points - outstanding views from the dining area, friendly staff and good breakfasts. The place is well located and you can walk to Drakes Bay along the coast... More

We were looking for a place away from crowds, with opportunities to get to know locals, and with easy access to the beach/swimming as well as rainforest. We found all this (and more) at Las Caletas. Our family of 2 parents, 2 adult children and 2 high school aged children recently spent 6 nights at this hidden gem in late... More

We just returned from our visit to Las Caletas, where our family of 2 parents and 3 adult children had a blissful 6 day visit. The setting is serene and beautiful, the food is simple, fresh and delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, the accomodations are rustic but comfortable. In addition to all that, the vacation was very affordable.... More

My family of 5 just spent 6 days at Las Caletas (before Xmas 2011). After 18 hours of travel from NYC, we arrived late afternoon by boat and jumped into the waters edge, walked up the hill and saw the charming lodge and spetacular view of Drake Bay. The food, served family style, was delicious and surprisingly varied with excellent... More
