We stayed 3 nights ( 25-28.4.12) in the Tentcamp. From the moment we arrived, Fernando, the owner, made us feel like home. It was a very warm and charming welcome. The tents are quite comfortable, we had 3 beds for the two of us. There is no light in the tent itself, so don't forget to bring a flashlight! Every... More

We stayed four days at this place and had a really great time. Fernando is an excellent host and always supported us in organizing the jungle trips and answered every question we had. His wife is moreover an excellent cook and we experienced real Costarican food. The tents are tents and not an apartment hotel. But this is what we... More

We spent 16 days traveling thru Costa Rica and this was by far one of the best experiences. Fernando and his entire family are terrific. The tent is set on a beautiful hillside high above Drake Bay. We enjoyed a refreshing breeze, hot showers and the cleanest of accomodations. Our platform had a private bathroom, two comfortable beds, deck chairs,... More

We stayed there 5 nights, end of february 2012. Everything was good. The tent was clean. The food was excellent. The beers were fresh ;). And most important,...all the tours suggested by Fernando were nice! Tour in Corcovado park, snorkeling in Cano Island... The staff was professionnal as well as reliable. Fernando even called the Lodge we wanted to go... More

In all fairness, we were not guests of this establishment. Our host at the Finca Maresia where we did stay, sent us across the back road to Fernando's hotel to have our lunches every day. I know that spending several hours every day at this delightful "inn across the road" enjoying delicious and very nutritious meals while chatting with the... More

Myself (29 yr old professional), a friend (27 yr old female professional) and my youngest brother (19 yr old college student) stayed at Pura Vista in January 2012 after checking other places out. This is definitely the place to stay if you are visiting Drake Bay. In short, it has the best view in the area, the accomodations are quite... More

We also tried to book at Finca Maresia, as per the Lonely Planet, but it was fully booked. We were adviced the Pura Vista Eco Camp instead and it was delightful. The nice, clean and furnished tents are great. The family atmosphere makes it local, food is good and the view to the Bahia Drake from the restaurant terrace is... More

We arrived at Drake Bay by 4x4 and found this place by accident. It is run by Fernando and his wife and family. Wonderful Costa Rican people. They made us feel very welcome and the food was excellent. The tents were very comfortable, and we lay in bed listening to the nightjars and woke in the morning to the birds singing.... More

I tried to book Finca Maresia but it was fully booked, so they recommended their neighbours. This is a Costa Rican run business, so it is gradually building up and isn't perfect.......but they are doing all the right things and have a gem of a site. The tens are extremely comfortable - just like African safari tents, though not quite... More

After eating at the attached Banzai Bar every day because the home-cooked meals were so darn delicious, we decided we wanted to stay another night in beautiful Drake Bay, but our current lodgings were full. We moved our stuff across the road to stay in the tent camp run by the very friendly Fernando and his wife. At first, I... More
