I stayed with a group of seven friends at Aganoa during April 2012, and have only great things to say. We started our two week holiday here, initially only planning to stay 4 nights before moving around the rest of Savaii. However, after just two nights we knew we had to extend our stay until the end of the week.... More

With a bunch of 8 blokes ranging from 19 to 65, all with differing expectations, this place catered to all of us and we had an awesome time for 8 days - during which the surf ranged from 6' to 10' down to 2'. Service was always super friendly and food was good to excellent. More

I went to Aganoa a couple of months ago with the initial intention of staying a couple of nights, then heading around the island for a little trip before going back to Upolu. Ended up staying a month! Aganoa is UNREAL...the waves were sick when I was there...in 4 weeks, only had about 4 days where we couldn't surf. Otherwise,... More

Nicest place I've ever been in my life! The most beautiful location, very private and isolated. Really good waves directly out front, some skills definetly required to have fun though. Raw power just like the Hawaiian islands over a shallow uncompromising reef, short and top to bottom, kind of across between V-land and backdoor. The retreat is simple and basic,... More

Very nice and well kept resort. Kind of isolated from the vilege life but defently first class resort with beach fale right on nice beach and good surf in paddle distance. So you don't need to pay extra for boot trip. The team and the family are very nice and the food is great. You can have a fale with... More

We recently stayed at aganoa and was really looking forward to going to savai'i, though the minute we walked in we were made to feel like we were more of a problem than welcome. The service was terrible, I have travelled on a budget all over the world and this would have to be the worst place on the basis... More

When we first arrived at this beautiful place I felt like Leonardo DiCaprio arriving at "the beach." It was so ideal. We had off-shore conditions which meant that the water was glassy but there was a nice wave peeling off the reef. It was lunch time and we got to order off the menu and were offered a welcome drink.... More

We would like to thankyou for your review and only sorry you didnt let us know while you were here especially about the gate fee and getting no receipt.and refund. We seem to be having a communication breakdown with the manager ,which has a lot to do with the shortage of food,as we rely on him to keep us informed... More

beautiful spot and full of surfies who come for one of the best surfs spots in the world (so we were told). Fales are quite basic-our one had a private bathroom but you had to go outside and back in to use it. Eating is communal so very social. Nice beach for relaxing on. Probably on the dearer side for... The beach is nice but the management is rude and unfriendly. The welcome was quite cold and if you book by internet you pay 50% more than if you just turn up. Also the local Samoans tried to charge $5 to re-enter the resort every time you went out. The manager and some staff made inappropriate sexual comments to a... More

We were very surprised to read this and that we were fully booked thru this time and had zero complaints including the 2 previous nice reviews, find most of this hard to believe. In order to set a few facts straight we need to clarify some issues. 1 The entry fee is set up by the Faala Village as a customary... More

We recently spent 10 days at Aganoa Beach Retreat and had a wonderful relaxing time. The accommodation is basic as is the food but what it lacks in variety in these ways it makes up for in friendliness, surf, sun, snorkeling and surfing. It is a premium surf site and the little village setting has very romantic appeal. We loved... More
