Room 7 has the best view & wi-fi service. Rojo 2 & Verde 2 are good in the new building. We stayed in room2 - a bit dated, cramped with good view but poor wi-fi due to thick walls.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is located at the SW corner of town in a quiet street with views of the waterfall. It isn't the cheapest, but you definately get what you pay for. You can have a room with a view of the waterfall which is real nice.
The breakfasts, which are...

We liked it here a lot! Lots of great details/details/details that make it worth any extra cost, compared to other hotels. The room was great---very quiet. Lots of lovely, vibrant art work tastefully displayed. Even outside in the patio/garden area there is some wonderful eclectic art-work. Breakfast was great too! Had dinner here one nite: Excellent! (At the very least...

As soon as you step into Hostal La Posada del Arte, you will know you made the right decision to stay here. It is a quaint hotel, adorned in local art, with beautiful rooms and dining areas. The owners, Jim and Marcia, are a warm, delightful couple from Chicago, who are helpful in suggestions for local tours, spas and restaurants...

We returned to Banos for another Visit & chose the Posada Del Arte based on our last trip Dec 2010. We were NOT Dissapointed! Room #7 still has the incredible View of the Falls & you can still hear a Faint Whisper @ Night w/ the windows open.

Banos is a lovely little town, safe and quiet. La Posada has a great location, also safe and quiet. We also had the best breakfasts of our trip so far. however, what was disappointing was the welcome (or lack of it). having travelled in South America for 9 months weve become accustomed to a warm welcome and interested hosts wherever...

We appreciate the reviewer's positive comments about our breakfast, which we do take pride in. However, we apologize for the disappointing welcome. We understand that guests expect, rightfully, a personal greeting at owner-operated hotels, and we think of ourselves as providing it, not as "policy" but as just being nice to customers. We, of course, have to pay attention to...

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. The room had a view of the Santa Virgin waterfall and the room was full of local art! The restaurant has amazing food and a yummy breakfast was included! The staff was very nice and helped us call our Spanish speaking cab driver. The location is just 2 min walk from the beautiful...

I made and had a confirmed reservation at Posada del Arte for November 30, December 1 and 2. I paid a deposit via Paypal and it was accepted and confirmed by Marshia via email. On December 1 we were evicted from our room because, in Marshia's words, "Someone else wanted the room and had been waiting for it for days"....

We sincerely regret the experience reported by this guest. We assure readers that this was an unusual situation, and we certainly respect all reservations.
In this case, the guests arrived 2 days ahead of their confirmed reservation. By chance, their rooms were available and we moved their 3-day occupancy up by 2 days, assuming their visit would still be 3...

The hotel is fairly new and well constructed. The rooms and entire facility are clean, vibrantly colored and decorated nicely. The food was some of the best. The owner's son is a trained chef and combines American and local dishes. The prices and quality of the food are good (get the special). The owners are helpful if you bug them...
