We had a very pleasant short stay in this hostel, a lovely little room and a good typical Argentinian breakfast. They arranged our bus trip to the Glacier and also pointed us in the right direction for the supermarket. I would of loved to of stayed longer and tried out the hammocks, but it was really just a quick for... More

We stayed there in February 2013 and we were really pleasantly surprised after a few not so great nights at other places. It's a very cozy guest house with a beautiful garden, rooms are nice and decorated with the taste. They are clean and there is wifi eveywhere. Breakfast is also ok. Marcelo and Cecilia who are running the place... More

Stayed here for 1 night, $63 for a double with private bath. The room itself was quite small (barely enough room for luggage and only one person can stand in the bathroom at a time) but the hosts were some of the best we have ever encountered while traveling. They went out of their way to be helpful, getting breakfast... More

Stayed here for 1 night in a queen bed room with private bathroom. Paid US$58 per night. Overall, we were happy with our stay and the hotel met our expectations. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. For example, we stated that we had to leave early at 6 am and he volunteered to serve us breakfast at 5:30am. Everything... More

First the positives. This hotel is very central (many hotels and hostels in El Calafate are a long way out of town – we’re talking kilometres here). The owners are friendly, kind and wonderfully helpful. And it’s cheap. But it gets only 3* because the rooms are incredibly cramped – there’s just enough room for a bed and a narrow... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Amancay, and have been greatly surprised by the room quality abd the warm welcome fron Marcely & Cecilia. You feel at home over there. Excellent value for money. The location is perfect, just 2 blocks from the heart of Calafate (not that it is a big city though!) I recommend it

I've stayed here for a total of three nights during a trip in November/December 2012, and I loved this place. There's a lot here that I really liked: The couple running the hostal is very friendly and helpful. They helped me to get local transportation set up, and arranged the trip from Torres del Paine to El Calafate for me.... More

This place has its own atmosphere, we were positively surprised with that. Although it is not a hotel, but rather a hostel, so is not equipped with all the hotel appliances, however is clean and you can feel a hart of Calafate there. the owners are extremely kind and helpful, they borrowed us guidebooks, offered Yerba mate (free of charge)...
