We were fortunate to stay at the ranch from 04/26/12-04/29/12 for a mini vacation. The owners and staff were all so friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and we left so stuffed that lunch wasn't needed. Our favorite item was the banana french toast...wonderful! We took a trail ride and enjoyed the views of the desert and of Saguaro Lake. Our... More

My wife and I had an extra day in the Phoenix area and were lucky enough to stumble across this place on TripAdvisor. The folks who run it are just about as friendly as you can get and will make you feel right at home. The circa 1930 cabins are pretty rustic, but we didn't go there to watch Sponge... More

We stumbled upon this little ranch and inn while looking for a guided horseback tour near Scottsdale. I can't rate or review the actual rooms or cottages, since we didn't stay. But the setting was stunning, the folks and wranglers operating the place are fantastic, and everything was neat, clean -- pristine even -- and absolutely lovely. Upon driving up... More

It was a refreshing treat to find such an authentic, hopitality-minded, TRUE western resort! Nothing too materialized, commercialized or over-the-top at this mom and pop inn. Just a genuine place that honors the history and the right way to give guests what the seek: relaxation, conversation, peace/quiet and of course, delicious food. Every important detail was cared for and there... More

We spent a long weekend here in late February. Located in the Tonto National Forest, below the dam that creates Lake Saguaro, the property has a lodge as well as cabins near the Salt River. We stayed in a cabin surrounded by a large saguaro cactus inhabited by a woodpecker. The grounds are full of desert plants and are well... More

We stayed at Saguaro Lake Ranch for 3 days on our Southwest Mountain bike trip. Saguaro Lake is famous for horse riding, fishing and tubing in the river. However it is also a place for Mountain biking. You don't need a car as you can get to the trailhead by bike. Search for Hawes Mountain und you will find Webpages... More

After running in to the Saguaro Lake Ranch by accident we booked 3 days during the week. The staff and management were top notch, they seem to know when to to ask if you need anything and when to leave you alone to sooth some weary nerves. We fished in tghe river and caught some small catfish while staring at majestic... More

Great place, wonderful location. It’s hard to believe such a beautiful, secluded canyon exists so close to Phoenix. I’ve stayed at 1930s-era CCC camps before and was concerned it might be run down. Just the opposite, the ranch is very well maintained. (Many thanks to other Trip Advisor contributors who gave us the confidence to stay there.) Attentive staff, owners... More

We went to Saguaro Lake Ranch to spend the afternoon trail riding. Neither of us has ridden in years, but the folks there were extremely friendly and helpful. They matched us up with horses that were within our ability to handle. The scenery was spectacular, the guide answered any and all questions and informed us on all of the local... More

This place is a 'resort' from another era. It's a workers' camp that was originally built during the building of the nearby dam in the 1930s. The place looks as if the passing of time has barely touched it. This has its pluses and minuses. The setting is stunning, and the atmosphere is entirely unhurried and relaxing. The grounds are...
