First off, this hostel features a disgusting smelly old dog that urinates uncontrollably all over the floors, including the kitchen, so don't walk barefoot! Really lousy internet. Better get up early, because they run out of breakfast, even during the supposed breakfast hours. Only 2 showers so get ready to wait in line. Everything needs to be deep-cleaned, shower curtains... This place could be lovely, but it's a mess. It's dirty, especially the floors and the bathrooms. They are supposed to serve breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30, but the first day it wasn't out until after 9, and the second day they started getting it together at 10! And it's just bread and instant coffee with powdered milk, doesn't exactly... More

My wife and I stayed two separate nights and we tried to return for a third but they were full. This is a good budget option which has a young backpacker crowd, nice outside plaza, and very friendly and helpful staff. More

Argentinian staff working here is genuinely friendly and helpful; all the rest about Kilca was very amateuristic. i guess they want to evoke an artistic/bohemian/antique atmosphere but the place just does not live up to its potential. e.g toilet seats are cracked and place smells dusty (or maybe that was dog+cat smell). Service is poor: they promise internet and breakfast... More

My wife and I (and our infant son) stayed in the Kilca Hostel. Although the staff is very friendly, the kind words about the hostel stop there-- the rooms are cold (there was an ineffective heater in the room) and we had to use two twin, unfitted sheets to put over the bare mattress. One night, one of the Kilca's... More

OK, the place is very nice : old charming mansion near San Telmo with patios... But the main problem is that you can t really sleep because this hostel is full of very young "so cool people smoking pots all the day" who are absolutely irrespectful: they leave ugly plates evrywhere, they never wash them in the kitchen, they did... Sometimes what matters in a hotel (or hostel) is how they react when things go wrong. We booked Kilca over New Years' since we were having a hard time finding reasonably priced accomodation in Buenos Aires over New Years'. We booked through an internet booking engine and something went wrong - when we arrived, Kilca knew of our booking but... More
