Absolutely loved this venue as it is positioned practically on the beach. So peaceful with wonderful views, nice friendly staff and lovely food. This has been so refreshing! Very few Irish or English people mosty turkish and danish. A small fishing village with about 50 restaurants all around the harbour and beach. Fresh fish and steak bbq everywhere. No hassling... i stayed at the Mercan in September 2010 with my wife and friends over our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we normally stay in Icemler which we love but fancied a change but as we love Turkey and my sister loves Yalikavik we thought we would give it a go. We were suppriced with the location as it is on the beach... More

Been going to Yalikavak for the last 4 years and stopping in the mercan story, wouldn't go anywhere else. Great location, in the town center (not too noisy) great resterants... What more could you want? Great staff and maids. Couldn't fault anything. I would reccomend it to anyone. Cant wait to go back in August!

23 June 2009, 8:12 we've just returned from a fortnight at the mercan story, although the appartments were clean and tidy, we were not impressed with the maid service, she changed the bins everyday but the rooms and towels were cleaned and changed just once the whole time we were there. these apts are in a perfect location but they need a good clean and update several guests bought bleach to clean the rooms . its such a shame because the beach is great and the resturants are superb but the accomadation lets it down not cleaned regularly. it could be perfect if it was updated and cleaned properly the mercan... I would return here year after year - went with a group of girl friends end of June beginning of July last year and returned again for a week in September- Weather beautiful, right on the beach, food is AMAZING (musti's steak house turning right out of Mercan) Dee Dee's bar (ozkan the owner) brilliant staff are awesome (Cengis etc)...
